'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

....because Heath Shuler didn't open them before?!? (just caught that)

Born and raised near Bryson City. True story, cousin of mine in nearby high school saw him warming up when Shuler sitting down threw from 50 yard line to the end zone.

Is Henry still a silent? You're such a miserable troll.

guy, i was asking you a general question, past aside. you don't have to be ruthless. jesus. you are the insider not me. what have you heard about green? thats all I'm asking.

if you can't answer the question you know nothing. seriously, you are a 16 yr old female when someone asks you a question. You can't have it both ways buddy.

You're the one claiming all these inside connections. OCI is perfectly in the right here. Change screennames if you want to ask serious questions. I'm sure you have more you could use.

Just wanted to get some opinions, but if Green were to commit, what type of impact are people expecting his first year? I think he is a great prospect, but I think its unrealistic to think he would have a Lattimore type impact his freshman year. Just my two cents. But wanted to see what others thought

I think he wouldn't have a lattimore impact and won't start in front of neal, but I think him getting to somewhere around 5 to 7 hundred yards would be a pretty good guess. Not taking anything away from him I think he is a fan freaking tastic back, but lets not down play neal in his senior year either I think neal will be a beast next year. Let me change that a little not really playing behind neal or in front, but them getting a lot of equal time on the field, especially later in the season.

Read please. I'm not the one swinging and missing. I asked him a question about Green, just like everyone of you do, yet I get **** about it? Funny how that works.

Would be nice!

Why don't you take his advice and ask all of your Vol player-friends?

Dude Sentimore said what he did about Henry because he actually played for Saban. I never said anything else about another recruit. Sure O'Brien and Tiny talk to the recruits when they come, but I don't sit down with coaches like skeeter, or OCI with his Peter Sirmon infatuation.

It would also be nice to have a senior like Neal take the pressure off a rb of Green's caliber . Let him adjust to the college game at a slower pace.

Why doesn't he take his own advice and tell us his insider knowledge about where Green is headed? If I ask it, I'm crucified, when someone else asks it, it's as if he is the priest and they are the little boy.

I'm sure OCI is hearing what we all are. That UT coaches feel good about where they are with Green but nothing is set in stone yet. Let's see how he does on his visits because it seems like his last visit always vaults to the top of his favorite schools.

Hopefully we can land him. There's an obvious opportunity for him here immediately.

I agree. And I do believe Neal will continue to progress. I think an ideal start for the backfield next year would be with Green starting with maybe 5-8 touches that first game and progress from there while watching Neal and even Lane and Devrin to an extent.

It would be nicer if Green comes in and unseats a Senior and leads the sec in rushing. Since we are wishing..

My dad is from there, Heath is a distant cousin. He really could throw that far sitting down. Redskins were the worst thing to happen to him.

Originally from Andrews, NC, about 25 miles west. Bryson City was my ancestral home. Had cousins that lived there. Swain County was always a powerhouse in football, even at the 2A level. As I recall Heath's Dad was a mail carrier and they ran one of the few motels in Bryson City at the time.

True. I certainly remember Heath scrambling and juking his way into Heisman contention. I do miss that. He tore it up. I really wish he would've came back for his Senior year.

Had he stayed, Shuler might be my favorite Vol ever...but he broke my 14 year old heart when he decided to leave early.
