It wasn't official but it was noteworthy.
Worth taking, four-star tailback Derrick Green (Richmond, Va./Hermitage) said on Sunday after watching Auburn play Clemson on Saturday evening in Atlanta.
Green, who has shown strong interest in Auburn, wasn't as concerned about the final score as he was about seeing the Tigers up close and personal in the Georgia Dome. Auburn ran for 180 yards, averaging 4.9 yards per carry, in the highly contested 26-19 loss.
Like how they had some things going to the outside and inside runs, Green said when asked what he liked about Auburn's performance.
Green has long said he'll base much of his college decision on a team's commitment to running the football. Green named his six finalists last month: Auburn, Oregon, Georgia, Ole Miss, Michigan and Tennessee.
The nation's No. 53 overall prospect is set to take an official visit to Michigan on Oct. 20 when the Wolverines host Michigan State. Green has said he'll take official visits to Auburn and Tennessee but hasn't set a date. Green's remaining to official visits will be divided up between Oregon, Ole Miss and Georgia.
