'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

No disrespect to OCI, but I very much believe that if we can get two Top tier backs that are willing to commit, we will take both of them.

I would imagine taking 2 top rated backs would be ideal. It's not a matter of what would we take. If our coaching staff is selling being the ONLY RB taken in this class to the top RB's, then I would guess once one picks the Vols the others would be looking to go somewhere else. If our coaches have been selling the idea of being the only one taken to these backs and we still have not got one to buy into the idea, then our RB recruiting has some issues. We may have to go another year without getting that 25 carry a game kind of back. If we continue to throw the ball 50+ times a game, I would think our RB issues will continue. Top RB's want to carry the ball. Their ability to pass block is not always what they want to showcase.

Exactly..We definitely need 2. Neal will be a SR and who knows if Lane will ever 100% trust his knee. We have talented smaller backs but i doubt Young or Watson could carry it 20+ a game. Also not sure what we have yet in Smith and Hill. Sounds like we will be getting Williams, so if true then him and one of the others will be huge.

pretty sure that's what he has been saying. We are looking for one RB to be the guy for this class....If they want to come in pairs then heck yes, come on over and sign these papers.

This bantering back and forth for months now whether UT will sign one or two backs is futile.....it would make more sense if they had one already in the fold but they don't .So lets suspend all such discussion until one is in the hopper because it only takes up space in all the RB recruit threads.thanks.

I still think this comes down to VT and Tennessee, mom wins out in the end. She wants him close to home. Green is in the process of setting up his visit here, most likely the UF game along with some other big name kids.

Do you know if Tennessee is in contact with Greg Bryant?

He's the pick of the litter IMO. Can dodge 'em and run over 'em. What we expect out of Vol RB.

This guy would be my #1 choice.

BUT... if this guy is going to VT or Michigan... And us getting Henry keeps him away from Florida/Bama... I'll gladly take Henry.

Pure RB, though... this fella and one other, please. Neal this fall could turn some RB heads.

i know right now we are a passing team but if we return everyone on the OL and replace left guard D. Thomas 305-310 lb with M.Jackson 320-330 lb it would make our OL huge and nasty with the average around 320 and without stone the average would be closer to 330. I want to pound the rock!!! And oh ya move fugate aka three stack who is 245 lb to FB/TE/RB hybrid in that order.

Bama is the only other school in it with Henry, FL isn't a factor, i think UGA is out of it.

They should be featuring the backs alot more this year. Probably as part of the passing game.
