'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

I still think this comes down to VT and Tennessee, mom wins out in the end. She wants him close to home. Green is in the process of setting up his visit here, most likely the UF game along with some other big name kids.

The extra distance is only little over 3 hours between VT and Tennessee. VT is probably starting a RFR tailback this year, plus Trey Edmonds who signed this past year looks to be staying at RB. Not saying that Green could not beat them all out, but on paper it is a young backfield compared to UT, only 3 hours away.

Probably would be the biggest recruit for TN since before Bryce Brown. I don't think people realize the difference maker we have here. Getting him makes us legitimate contenders for ET not getting him, makes it tough. This is the guy we want.

I'm not one to go against what Skeet says, since he consistently brings good info.. but I agree with ESPN. I think if we win, GREAT chance he's in orange. BUT, like a lot of kids, I just think he's waiting to see how well we do on the field and wants to see if the coaches will be here. That's huge for these kids, and as long as Dooley is on the "hot seat," it will be tough to get these 5 stars looking at us seriously. Other schools will use that against us, and it works to some extent. LETS. JUST. WIN!!!

I guess it is easy to say a kid is just waiting to see how our season turns out and if we win until he chooses another school. Most felt Hatcher was a VOL lean and was waiting to see how we did this year. Then he picks USC and cracks jokes about UT and losing to UK. Most have no idea what these kids are thinking or doing. I guess we can claim they are all VOLS, until the announce they are going somewhere else.

Would love to have this cat, more so than Henry, but think his heart's in Ann Arbor while his mom's in Blacksburg. I'm asking myself, "Will he pull a Landon Collins?" Hmm...

it's interesting the info on this board when on other boards they green to auburn bandwagon is in full force.

There's the reason behind that man, you can hardly tell what info about the barn is true or false.

yeah i wasn't saying your board's info is incorrect btw at all, just that it was interesting what i have read from other boards on green. yeah when dealing with auburn it's hard to know what is true and what is false..

I do wonder if all the smoke about Green's AU interest could create an interesting situation regarding Wilkins?

I can't remember how he felt about multiple backs in a class, but for some reason I recall some sort of hard feelings about this issue in the past.

Below article is from knowledgable poster on VA messages boards:

“Between the top RBs in Va this year, I'd take Reid. If I rated them individually, I'd have Mizzell #1, Reid #2 and Green #3. I think all three are top 250 types (though I wouldn't have any 5-star), but I like Reid's versatility. He is a really good RB, but can also play WR given his size and he actually has a little experience there too. He plays all over (RB, WR, QB) for TDHS and UVa actually offered him as a QB (last ditch effort to get in with DJ IMHO).

FWIW and IMO, Green is WAY over rated at #13 on Rivals. To date, he's been more of a combine warrior than an on field producer. Last season, Yahkee Johnson outrushed DG by nearly 1000 yds and Green outweighs YJ by nearly 100 pounds.”

how would this be classified as an article?....also, who is Yahkee Johnson? and if he is 100 lbs lighter than Green then I don't expect his game to be effective in the college world.
