'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

Oh by the way Lawson and Bell are locks too. Lol

The guy said he believes we are going to get D.Green because we have one of the best runningback coaches in the nation and you're mocking him? To be honest his assessment is not far off, we are in the top 3 for D.Green and several reports released have him favoring us, so all signs are reasonably optimistic so don't try to destroy someone else's optimism.

I have to agree with Brad, our fanbase has set itself up the last few years for dissapointment with big players. That being said, we pulled CP last year so anything can happen. As much as people want Dooley to be fired, I would rather him finish out this recruiting class and at least get next season. If this staff can finish with Green, North, Bell, and Toby Johnson that would be tremendous.

Ya this one is in the books just like the other 5 star recruits we get every year. Might as well book a trip to the GA dome next year. BCS? No problem

Dude we r his leader per hubbs.. Definitely too 3... Why is it so out of the realm of possibility,

Stop being negative just to be negative..

I'm not saying that we will land D.Green just that if we should have optimism for landing any big recruit in the class then he's the guy. As far as Dooley's class is concerned it has a lot to do with these last four games. It will be hard to find an excuse for losing to any of these teams and potentially not going bowling again would most likely lead to a few decommits and lost interest from the guys we're currently recruiting. My only problem with keeping Dooley another year is that if we have the possibility of landing a game-changing coach then we need to pull the trigger, because if we find someone who can gather up some wins quickly then we could see the recruiting potential sky-rocket

When Gruden is announced it's going to be unreal the guys we start getting. I would guess Gruden keeps Graham and we get DG. He is that game changing type back we have needed. The combo of size and speed is elite.

IF, IF, IF the Gruden thing happens & he assembles a staff with some of the names mentioned I could see several of the elite prospects considering UT jumping on board as well as other studs that aren't even looking our way right now.

Jon Gruden's name alone would get the attention of top 100 players across the nation. Give him an all star type staff & kids would be lining up to visit UT.

I think we could get back in on Henry, too. In Gruden's West Coast offense, it would hell for SEC defenses having both Green and Henry lined up in the backfield...with Henry possibly being a fullback some, who get's plenty of carries and passes out of the backfield.

From Rivals -

Derrick Green has been silent since his visit to Michigan. Is that a good sign for the Wolverines?

It could be but I wouldn't read anything into it just yet. It's common for four and five-star prospects to start to shut things down a little bit as we get deeper into the process and closer to Signing Day. Green has a lot to think about and I'm not sure he even has a good idea of where he's leaning at this point. He was also focusing on the ACT all last week so he didn't do any interviews.

Michigan is an attractive option for him because it's a huge program that's looking for a game-changer to come in and, like I've said before, he is built like the perfect Big Ten back. They also have staff stability, unlike schools such as Auburn and Tennessee, but I wouldn't read anything into his silence just yet.

Four-star running back Derrick Green has been one of the most talked about prospects in the 2013 class. With the in-state programs not having pushed Green for a commitment, his recruitment has literally covered the map from Michigan to Auburn to Tennessee, and now to Oregon and possibly Ole Miss.
National Analyst Steve Wiltfong on Green’s recruitment: “This campaign has a chance to end with the biggest surprise. Nobody is sure who the true leader is. Michigan is in a good spot as the Green camp told 247Sports his latest stop in Ann Arbor, an official visit over Oct. 19 weekend was another great trip. He took an official visit to Tennessee the weekend of Sept. 14 and word out of Knoxville is the Vols are still in the fight. He’s scheduled to visit Auburn on the weekend of Nov. 9. The Tigers were always figured to be one of the leaders but will their struggles this fall hurt in the Green race? Can Oregon make a major move when Green visits the weekend of Nov. 17? Ole Miss is still involved, Will Green eventually be a Rebel? This one’s impossible to call at this point as the Green party still collects all its data.”

Ole Miss concerns me.

I agree. After he visited Ole Miss last summer, he said something to the effect that he very well could see himself there as part of building something. I think he wants to play in the SEC and OM is presenting itself as a an acceptable choice.

Mama wins out with this kid.. Ole Miss, UM, AU are far away and TN presents a good option because it is the only one thats drivable

I still think the Vols are the favorite for Green. I just think Ole Miss has made itself an acceptable alternative.
