'13 KY DE Jason Hatcher (USCw Commit)

Good to finally hear some more news on Hatcher. Man, if Meyer gets him, I'll be so ticked off. Of course, he's entitled to go wherever he thinks is best for him. Hatcher would be big-time in Sal's scheme, and it sounds like he likes that idea a lot. I hope he still has interest in vet. science as well. Does anybody know if any of those other schools are as good in that dept. as we are? Seems like our major concerns on that front were with Auburn and Michigan, but I could be wrong.

The only 2 schools in his top 5 with a college of veterinary medicine are tOSU and UT...a positive for us. I think this will end up being his top 2, if he is really serious about becoming a veterinarian.

Thanks, man! Ohio State scares me here though. Put Meyer at a university like that, and you have something scary, even though Meyer just lucked up with the Timmy Tebow lottery. One player can change everything for a guy. Just go ask Chizik.

Yeah, I am worried about OSU with Hatcher, too. What happens with him will be very similar IMO to a lot of the big-time targets that we are in on. If we can win 8-9 games or more, then I think that we will land him. If we don't, then it will be a tough pull. So many others on VN have been saying the same thing for a long time...this is the year that we HAVE TO WIN, if we want to start landing the elite talent and competing with the best.

Hatcher & his mother were indeed on campus Saturday. He came in to checkout the Vetenarian program. He wants to come back for camp this summer.

Jmo, that's HUGE news! Already bringing mom to campus this early is a very good thing. I hope he was impressed by our program.

I wonder if he saw the new facilities. Wasn't there a thread with pics of the progress? I'd assume it's close to being dried in by now, then finish the interior

Yes, he got to see the renovations to the facilities, Thornton Center, and the vet school. They talked to him about choices in academics in animal science(which he is interested in).Dooley talked to him and his mom about the VFL program and other things we can offer him. Seems to me it was a great visit for all parties involved.
