'13 FL RB Derrick Henry (Bama commit)

Hey guys I am new to posting on this board. I have been reading this board for a long time and think that you all bring the best info. Onto Henry while I think that he would be a great addition to this class from what I see and films I watch I think we would benefit from D.Green as far as a true skill set at that position. It seems to me he is a little more futher developed as far as pad leverage and knowing to identify the linebackers. Plus the fact that possibly Henry could grow out of position. Although I do think UT would take either one of them in a NY min as running back I think having Jay Graham is a asset and I do think that he will land a game changer at the running back position.

Would take Green in a heartbeat. Doesn't seem likely tho.

it's recruiting...everyone guesses. some use logic and most don't

exactly, some of this stuff doesnt take insider info to figure out. i mean you have some fanbases continue to feel like they are still in it with some players eventhough everyone else knows they have no dog in the fight. if a recruit never mentions u throughout the process then he is probably not interested in your program, they let homerism overtake the obvious.

in the case of henry, he visited bama, after he left there he publicly decommitted, people on bama and UGA side were saying that his HS coach was pushing him toward Bama, he later named bama the leader. he genuinely likes UT, if he didnt he wouldnt mention them, he could have played the game and said any other school as another option but he didnt.

doesnt take insider info to figure that one out

this. it's a win win for Bama. They can give him his shot, and whether he thinks he deserves it or not they can make that call and put a freak athlete wherever they want him. That AND they don't have to put up with him in Orange.

only way i feel bama loses out is if tyren jones decommits because of this. i felt he was a top 5 back before he even committed to bama. he just brings so many intangibles to the position

Best case scenario is that Henry commits to Bammer and Tyren decommits. I would take TJ yesterday and be done at RB. You know he stays in touch with our staff and visits.

I agree that TJ is a baller. Frankly, watching his film, he has all the moves, and he's not afraid of contact at all.

If his recruitment opens up, I would love for us to get in on him, but from what the Bammers have said he isn't going to be run off by a little competition.

Now, I would say three excellent backs in one class, and Yeldon ahead of him is more than a little competition but who knows how these kids think?

CMR and company are doing all they can to convince T Jones that if Henry commits he will never see the field. Atleast according to T Jones father. But Jones is by far the best RB we have committed, even though Tenpenny has more of a national reputation.

Tenpenny's showings at camps have earned him his rep, and that's completely fine. His highlights from sophomore year weren't anything to shrug at either, but Jones is a better all purpose back IMO.

We'll all just have to wait and see how it unfolds I suppose. I wouldn't be upset in the slightest if Henry just decides to come here instead and y'all keep TJ. Haha.

The other scenario would be Henry come to UA, Jones to UGA and Kamara to UT. Just saying. But I am not worried at this point with Jones because the interview with him and his father after his recent visit to UGA showed me no concern.

Henry and Kamara wil have a big affect in the other. When one commits I would bet the other is not far behind. I still think UGA might be in the best position to get Kamara, but UT may end up landing him. Rumors and again only rumors that Kamara might not be happy with the attention Jones is getting from the UGA staff. It could very play in UT's favor.

and if I'm a troll then you are one of the biggest Vol azzhole on this site bc you're always trying to stir ****e with rival fans. I respect pretty much everyone on this board but if you call me out in a post then I going to state the facts or my opinion. So, in this case it was a poster who decided to bump a post from over a year back about a kid that UF isn't recruiting and haven't tried to recruit for over yr. Secondly everyone in the recruiting game knows that if Henry had a rb offer from UF he would have committed last year but instead he popped at Dawgnite only a few weeks after UF worked him out at TE/HBack at camp but don't let facts get in your way of always trying to stir crap up around here.

I don't care if u say every recruit in the world wants to be a gator.. It's when u say things like, "hope he goes to bama, so u all will have to take another "project" at running back."... Which is pretty much slapping our recruiting and our school in the face... I'm sorry, I'm just not one to get picked on, and i will defend mine..But I'll lay off if u just stop with the UT bashing.

I get what your saying but imo you don't have to run to the recuse of someone who's trying to stir **** up. The guy was trying to flame by bumping a quote from over a year back and he knows it. Yes, I know I'm on VN so I try to respect this board by just keeping to recruiting talk but every now and then I do some **** talking with a few guys in good fun. But BS post like the op bumping a 12month old post is a reason why other rivals fans troll away on VN. :salute:

Been watching this guys recruitment. If we don't kick butt at the beginning of this season I have a feeling we can forget about him. So... Go big orange!!!!!

We shall kick "said" butt and names we are not even discussing will be visiting Tennessee. You watch. We can beat anyone on our schedule though I think we lose to Bama and one out of UGA USCe.

Gator I bumped the post, I didn't realize it was a year old. I Didn't repost it to make you look like a idiot. But he did pretty much give you the what for. That's all nothing more. I'm not gonna insult my own intelligence with the name calling.

I feel like every BAMA "source" always said that he is always committed to them but it is silent and it's a done deal. Why hasn't he fully committed and why does he keep letting Tennessee and Georgia linger around? I think if we win 10 games he is in orange. He wants to win like every other kid so only time will tell but I dont think he is silent committed he just has a favorite

Yeah. It seems kinda odd that Bama would have silent commits, and further more let them visit rival schools.

Bama may lead, but no way is this a 100% lock. I may humor Bammer posters, but in no way do I buy into what they are saying.

We definately have a shot here, and it's scaring the crap out of Bama fans.

yeah a few good sources have said he is a silent commit but i doubt many bama fans really feel its a done deal especially after what happened with gunner kiel last year. Saban and company are not going to stop commits, silent or not, from taking visits, if thats was the case then you wouldnt have over half of the class still taking visits. Most bama fans i talked to that really know the game of football want him to be a part of the class but they also dont wont to risk losing the other 2 commits who are considered to be better pure backs, they talk about it on the other sites to educate the fans that really dont know the game as well, so im sure if they miss out on henry it wont be a meltdown like some people think it will be, not when u have to other stud backs in the fold.

grew up a gator fan but didn't care for Meyer and company...Henry, Lane and Lil Taylor. WOW!

I know this is an old post, HG, but I thought you didn't put either Lane or Taylor in your top five Florida running backs. What does "wow" mean?

Personally, I can't look at Lane with muscles on top of muscles and not believe that he is in the top five nationally.
