I was under the impression today was the quiet period and tomorrow started the dead period.
I didn't think you could do in-homes during the quiet period. But I'm no expert.
Yeah I agree. First was JC Copeland who signed with LSU on NSD and then last year Gabe Wright went to Auburn. I don't know why it's been so hard to sign highly ranked DTs. The playing time has been right there for them. I'm glad it's been mainly addressed this class though.
Hopefully Mo Couch really begins to make an impact next season. He started to show his talent toward the end of last season if I remember correctly. Hopefully Daniel McCullers makes his presence known early next year too.
A buddy of mine who happens to be a VT grad has a pay subscription at a recruiting site. He told me if Kirven picks Tennessee he will cancel his service. The admin/mod of that site seems very unprofessional, personally i would have already cancelled and seeked out other options. Here are some quotes this mod is posting on that site. I know for a fact hes wrong with alot of what he is posting, funny stuff. This kid may end up at VT, but this guy is a total hack. He sent me lots more, but ill just post a few. I also made my buddy promise to keep his sub long enough to send me this guys post weds, if Kirven picks Tennessee.
The weekend... Reply

"Was a huge success. All the kids had a great time.
Blue is a great looking kid!
And Mr.Kirven. At this point, especially after this visit,if hes not a Hokie,he may just not want to be. VT left no stone unturned. He had a great weekend. But he is keeping it super hush hush. However those UT fans better start painting over that damn rock they prepared."

"Its not that rare. UVA has done this a few times this year and last when the recuit committed to us or someone else, and they were "leaning" to UVA just days before. UT is out for Kirv, hes not getting that trophy this year."
"AGAIN. JC is so full of **** his eyes are brown. There isnt ONE coach on that staff that feels like hes there because he felt like he had too. There are going to be some upset UT fans too. "
Ahhhh the twists and turns of recruiting... Reply

"I didnt mean that we literally needed to "let" Korren make his decision.just hypothetically. Because I can promise you this, there are few, even those closest to him that really know whats going on. Some think they do,some are reading into it,but this will be KK's decision and his only. Go Hokies!"
"The Brookville coaches,if you read their posts, and the interviews they are doing do not think we are in good shape with Korren fwiw. FWIW,they didnt know what Zack was doing either, the whole world will know on signing day where KK is headed. Lots of tension in the Burgs i can tell you that."
Are we even sure the SEC is going to allow back counting next year? I've read in more than one place that Slive is entertaining eliminating the back counting.
We have cleaned up on the DL this cycle. 2013 is off to a fast start. Dooley finds our weaknesses, and attacks them like a madman on the recruiting trail. I think we also get Kirven, but even if we don't, we are in much better shape than thus time last year. Here's to hoping we add KK
is it bad that the only thing that i hear out of that entire thing is his reference to the rock. not to toot my own horn but makes me proud as heck that the mod of a vtech site speaks out in anger against the rock we painted for korrens parents. heck with it getting painted over so fast and with them never even making it in i figured it was a lost cause. just makes me laugh a little inside, sorry if nobody cares lol
Yes, we are in a much better position along the DL than we were last season. The key now is can they be coached up by the new DL coach? Landing KK would still be huge. It would really shore up the DT depth that we had been lacking.
Moving to the 3-4 also helps because you don't play as many DTs. McCullers will (hopefully) hold a double team and allow the LBs to make plays.

No doubt in my mind Palermo can coach them up. His recruiting prowess (to me) was his question mark. He is highly regarded as an X's & O's kind of coach.
I really expect us to go back and forth between a 3-4 and a 4-3. The more play we get from Big Mac and Carson the more 3-4 we will see. Imo
Yeah, but I think Sal makes up for his recruiting a bit. At this point, we need a good coach to teach them the fundamentals, blocking, pass rush, etc. That way, if and when they produce on the field, you can really sell that to future recruits.
Hes ours if we want, so no suprise. was a suprise last week, will not be weds.
