No one will commit until they know who the DC coach will be. You want to make sure it fits the type of style you want to play in. I would not commit to a school in this situation until I found out what is going to happen with the staff. They may hire a guy you like or someone you hated when recruiting you before. It makes sense other guys would wait as well who have committed. To decommit when you have committed without having all the new info is immature as well. So, guys like KK are smart to wait and see what happens.

before jw and sirmon announced they were leaving, did we have a chance with kirven? Some people said he was a silent to VT but "playin the game.

I think we were 2nd on his list. He has visited UT a lot and is coming on the 13th.

I think he's been VT for a long time, but he's always had an interest in us. We've had an outside shot.

"It changes a lot. You've got to be ready and expect that at any school, but like I said, I'll probably still take my visit. But, as of now, Tennessee's (fallen down his list)," Kirven said.

He added that the two were his main contacts at Tennessee, although he knows defensive line coach Lance Thompson and said it really affects his decision.

"It definitely did, it affected it. Tennessee was one of my leaders and both of those coaches that are leaving it definitely changes things. It definitely is going to affect my decision. I'll probably still take a visit as of now. Those were my two recruiters and they're leaving," Kirven said.

Don't mean to sound like a negavol or anything like that, but this kid was a very long shot to begin with. Without Wilcox/Sirmon, well... you know. He will end up at VT, and that's pretty much always been the case. Those closest to him are confident in that. May still visit, but he's just enjoying the process.
