'12 TX LB Dalton Santos (Texas Commit)

One of the major reasons I think he picks the Vols is that he has stated that he likes to "hit people in the mouth" and not backup in pass coverage. SEC is smash mouth football and where he belongs. I say he stays with us and becomes a VFL!!!

That was only after he saw a post by UTs#1fan

Wanted to hit people in the mouth

Our last second attempt at a lower end state prospect, shot down, no thanks says Robison.... Texas' last second attempt at their lower end state prospect, HOOK'EM HORNS while posing with the coach...

Pretty much sums up the condition of our football program. smh

See what I mean

This is awesome. Be a fan of someone else, then.

Any prospect, whether they intended to commit to Texas or not, would do hook em horns if mack brown came to their school to visit.

That's only half of the issue... it's convenient that you don't even mention the part about the Tennessee kid not wanting Dooley to even visit him and he'll just stick with his TEXAS TECH commitment...

I like your, "you don't have orange marshmallows in your butt, so go be someone else's #1 fan" comment... pretty original.

See what I mean

You probably think the reason he picks Texas (if he picks Texas) is because it's Texas and his dream school, blah blah blah... right?

It would have nothing to do with the current condition of Tennessee's football program, right? Sal has to hold onto two guys, that's it, with Santos being a guy he's already formed a relationship with... If he doesn't, I'm not so sure about his so called great recruiting ability...

Honestly, the kid is smart... don't get me wrong, BOTH programs are sinking ships but if he's gonna go down with one, why not it at least be his home state school and be that much closer to home? Makes sense, no? I too wish him all the best.

I hope santos is a vol, but if he doesn't sign, I think that will allow John Probst to be a bigger part of the picture. I think Probst deserves a chance to see what he can do on Saturdays. The are both inside backers, right?

no reason to believe that except that it came from his mouth

if he was so concerned with the condition of UT football why commit in the first place? You obviously have no clue about Texas players and the draw to UTx

No matter what has happened up until this point, guess what? Santos still has not de-committed from TN and committed to Texas. Maybe he's waiting until after his OV so that he can play the game and get the red carpet treatment; however, it may mean something completely different that's great news for us.

This is more stupid than your typical rants. There is a tremendous draw for Texas kids to Austin PLUS an even bigger factor of being able to play close to home.

Just when I thought this post could not become more moronic than it was...

Sinking ships? Texas will ALWAYS be one coaching change away from BCS contention. I agree that MB is not a very good coach... in the Fulmeresque tradition. UT is also either maturity or a coaching change away from making alot of noise. Dooley at a minimum has rebuilt the Vol talent base.

Also, this has nothing to do with his calculation. He could have gone to A&M, UGA, Ark,... he didn't.

I will be so happy when this is over. I don't think him going to Texas will impact our class at all. I love the way he "TALKS about football". I don't know if he will be any good at football in the SEC. He is turning into a real pre-madonna at this point. If he de-commits now, then good for him.

If I was Sal I would say look, you are committed to us publicly. If you want to go to Texas then tell me now so I can go get a MLB for this class.

JMO> Dalton is showing no class by dragging this along. Don't get all the way to NSD and de-commit.

No, we are making him out to look like a pre-madonna. He isn't doing anything wrong, considering he hasn't had his offer two weeks yet and his parents, family, amd friends are major factors as well.

I've been a reader on this site for many years, but this is my very first post. you get the honor of being the recipient of it. I agree with you 100%. I like Santos and want him to be a Vol, but if that does not happen, someone else will be given the oppurtunity to step up. There have been a lot of young men cross the checkerboard that on paper were not suppose to contribute much and ended up being superstars. If Santos goes to Texas, so be it. We'll manage without him......having said that. Please come to Tennessee Mr. Santos. :)

sorry guys. I do alot more reading than posting for sure. Honestly, I get alot of smiles out of reading everyone's comments.

What I don't get is the "only 3 posts" stuff. Who cares? You know the old saying, "better to be quiet and have everyone think you're an idiot than to open your mouth and leave no doubt".

Certainly, that's not verbatim, but you get the picture. Well, most of you.
