You know the thing about Santos though, is he is one of the few recruits that if he spurns us, I will still follow him closely and cheer for him.

I flat out love the way the kid plays football and am a fan of his.

Thats why I think so many of us so dearly want him to come to Tennessee.

From what I've read he wants to be a Vol, but family is adamant about him going to Texas. If Dalton was really in love with Texas he would have already decommited. Tough position for an 18 year old. JMO.

He's entitled to change his mind. I have no problem with that and won't hate on him for it. But if Texas is where he wants to be, he should let our coaches know ASAP. With NSD so close, they need to know the numbers they're working with

The longer it plays out the better for us IMO. Assuming it's a foregone conclusion that he is a horn, I agree with you, but I don't assume anything in recruiting. Still hope he dons the power T.

This is just the 3rd year that I have really kept up with recruiting throughout the whole year but this year has been by far the most stressful.

Dalton wanted to be a Longhorn all along.

he got offered late, if he jumps at it.

no hard feelings. opportunity of a lifetime

good luck to the youngster.

Actually, I'm getting a little sick of this dream school $h!t. We offer these kids early just to have another school offer them late in the game. I hope Dalton loves Texas because he has to know for them he was only an option because they struck out on other players.

Is there some evidence somewhere that says Mr. Santos won't let his kid go to Tennessee now or is this all just butt hurt speculation?

Don't know how old you are, but assuming you've always been a Vols fan, with Santos that describes his parents and the Horns.

It's also closer to home for him (4.5 hours or so) and that's been shown over and over again to influence decision.

So, it has nothing to do with being 'butt hurt.'

He was being recruiting by Sirmon, but in my mind, although folks liked him, I'd have to give a nod to Sal and the Bama linebackers he coached as an upgrade in coaching changes. Either probably trumps Texas, but going there would be more of an emotional decision versus a rational one centered on getting the best opportunity to advance his game to the NFL ranks. He simply may not be good enough for the League and may be giving up on that in favor of enjoying his college days in Austin.

Don't really know... but there's plenty of evidence to suggest he'll go to Texas. But, I don't see that as a deal breaker for this class, especially since the kid would not be doing it based on what makes him the best football player he could become.

Sal will recruit and develop good LB's... it's just a matter of time and who gets the benefits from being in his system.
