Who will Kimbrow choose?

I disagree completely. They may be able to take it 80 yards on a straight run with great blocking. But none of them will make people miss in the open field and take it 80 yards. Tennessee does not have the kind of talent right now some of you like to imagine.

Agreed.

And just because Rajion Neal may or may not have clocked in the 4.3s does not mean he's that type of runningback. He's a between the tackles type of runner in the end.
Adrian Peterson ran in the 4.3s at the combine but that doesn't mean he is the same type of back that a Kimbrow-type is.

I think you may have this odd vision of seeing Kimbrow rise up like an angel and glide over all would be tacklers as he advances to heaven(end zone). "They can't touch me". While the idea of "making a guy miss" is fine and dandy...I have NO ISSUE with a guy who can take the handoff, side step a backer and truck a saftey as he goes 80 yards. If you think Poole, Neal, Smith or Lane could not do that your just seaching for anything to hold on to why we need BK so much. If you think DY can not take one to the house, I think you need to watch his highlights again.

Yeah it can't be considered a loss if the guy was never offered by Tennessee.

With that said you have to give Vandy some credit though. They are actually landing guys now that had some very good offer lists. It's certaily better than I've ever seen them recruit.

Josh Dawson had offers from Georgia, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, South Carolina and a bunch of others. That was a huge pickup for them and he's likely going to end up a 4-star. He would have been a huge pickup for anyone.

Darreon Herring, Jacob Sealand and Stephen Weatherly also had some really solid offer lists too.

I do give Vandy a ton of credit. Alot of these kids could be headed to much higher reguarded schools. I have said all along that Vandy was getting it done. I was then quoted and told "It's ONLY JUNE". "Vandy has no chance".

Have you been to VQ before?

Yep I'm a subscriber and don't recall too many meltdowns. Actually pay for it because of Hubbs and the other mods. They have great stories of recruits and the mods are very reliable with info. Now alot of posters on the other hand. But really all messageboards are the same
Usually bad info and everybody knows someone and has inside info and rarely are they true. But very entertaining.

Meltdown over putting 2 and 2 together with the rumor that vandy will get a bunch of commitments - and now Kimbrow and Azubike are announcing at practically same time next week.

Would not lose sleep over Candy getting those two. We aren't getting either one so it really doesn't matter. Would rather focus on guys we have a chance at and have offered.jmo

Not necessarily.I think what we can take from that is he has developed good relationships with those staffs and he likely wants to play in a spread offense where he can get some early PT.

If he wants early PT it would be hard to come by at the big 4 you mentioned. They are all pretty loaded with elite talent at his position.

I agree with the stuff you have said. I will add that sometimes, no matter how hard you go after a kid, they may just not like it at that place. It happens. CCB has been getting good reviews in Menphis.

Never under estimate outside influences on some of these Memphis kids. If he chooses Cincy, he would join Alex Dale, and O would expect Redmond and the Melrose QB to follow suit. Would surprise me though.

This is also why I hope our staff moves on and does NOT continue to recruit these guys. Alot want to use the "its not over until they sign", but I would like to see our staff focus on players who want to have a chance at SEC titles.

I agree. I will be surprised if Kimbrow ends up at Cincy since he's never visited there and he's ready to decide. I do think Cincy is in good shape right now to land Gross and Cole.

well maybe these guys wanna be apart of building something special at Vandy. you know, the same words that some of our recent commits have said. whatever the coach is selling these recruits are buying.

Exactly. I dont see much difference. What do some people expect their staff to tell these kids? We suck but we still want you to come play for us?

They are trying to sell Vandy on a very similar message that Dooley and his staff are trying to sell Tennessee on.

AlexVol in another thread says Bowles is one of the upcoming Vandy "commits". anyond else heard his name? Would hate for this to be true.

Franklin is a good salesman it appears, but my questions...

1. What happens when some of those early kids pick up better offers, especially if the Georgia ones get UGA offers?
2. How many fliers will Vandy give Franklin?
3. How long cam his sales act last without improving win totals?
