Who will Kimbrow choose?

Wrong.

Actually he's right on. He's not a player we desperately need. You can find small fast backs everywhere. If he wasn't from TN most on here wouldn't give a damn about him. He wouldn't be an every down back at UT and he does know that. We will be fine with or without him. Give me Cross, RJ Robinson and any small speed back and call it a day at RB.

There are offenses Kimbrow fits better than ours.

I'm not saying I don't want him. I do. I think he's a game changer and will prove that if he can get in school which is a ? from a guy that knows. But we won't get him anyway unless we change our minds between now and NSD.

Everyone is saying we backed off, but no one is giving a reason. We need spped on the field and that is what both Redmond and Kimbrow bring. What is the reason behind it?

Grades.
Plus, and this is an assumption based on what I know of their board, the coaches have higher targets they feel good about. Only taking one more back. Unless it's Brown and another. Brown may play elsewhere though he wants to play RB. bama leads.

Did you not say in the other thread a couple days ago that you thought we finished with Kimbrow and Mathers?

Yes, I did. Just shows you how quickly things change in recruiting. Especially when you get in touch with people in the know.

I didn't say a thing about money. Just weirdness around Kimbrow. Don't know what it is.

No. We have backed off. Big time.

When did we decide to back off? Three weeks ago people were saying this guy was "ours". Just goes to show that things can change very quickly (or maybe not in this case) in recruiting.

This is one I actually don't care that much about. If it were Bowles, I'd be more down about it.

Exactly how I feel as well.

I love Kimbrow's speed but I'd rather have an every down back any day of the week. We'll find another good back to go along with Cross.

So the guy who all our experts here said was the #1 player on UT's board, a kid from Tennessee, is going to pick Vandy over UT. Great job Dooley.

I am not sure about why we have backed off of Redmond -- first I have heard of that. But I have said repeatedly from the beginning that Kimbrow was not a need for our team -- he brings very little that we do not already have in D Young. We were never aggressively pursuing Kimbrow and I suspect we explained that to him politely and in private. That is why he never listed us in his list of teams he liked.

We got our fast, small, elusive return specialist last year -- Dervin Young. Even if Kimbrow is better than D Young (unknown at this point), he would only be marginally better. If there were no scholarship limits, we probably would take someone like Kimbrow, but that is not the case. As it is, we cannot afford to use a scholarship on another limited use return specialist. We need DL's and LB's far more.

I do not believe that anything has "changed" with Kimbrow. As I have said repeatedly, he was never at the top of our board for the reasons stated above. I could be wrong, but I doubt he ever had a committable offer. Nothing against Kimbrow, he is a good player -- he just does not meet our needs at this time.

Hope that helps.

Let's call the recruitment of the supposedly #1 player on our board and from our own state what it really is, a failure by Dooley and staff.
