Who will Kimbrow choose?

There are always some posters who feel they know how to evaluate one talent over another from watching a youtube video. Offer lists will always say alot about a recruit when it comes to who has the most talent.

More often than not, but definitely not always. There are plenty of examples every single year.

I'm also telling you that Watson isn't built the same as Kimbrow. Kimbrow looks similar to a Russell Shepard at LSU, just shorter. Guys like that can't take the beating of running between the tackles.

Shephard is taller, bigger, and a wide receiver.

In addition, I used Shephard as a body comparison. Kimbrow, coming out of HS, looks similar to R. Shephard.

I know, and Shepard was a solid 4 inches taller than Kimbrow and had about 15 pounds on him. I wouldn't consider that to be similar.

Shepard is 6'2"? Shepard is all of 6'. If the recorded measurements are correct, he's a solid couple inches taller. Again, BODY TYPE. They are both lanky, they both don't have the center of gravity, etc.

Why? Is there an unwritten rule that all things must be sugar coated on the recruiting forum? I may have missed it.

I really haven't seen anyone sugar coat anything in terms of production on the field. However, questioning CDD's results on the field with the personnel he's had the past two seasons isn't giving the guy a fair shot.

I doubt their coaching ability, no doubt about it. Their ability to evalute talent is still up in the air. The losing record and lack of improvement by our last 2 classes would speak to both be very questionable.
Fair enough, but I trust their abilities to evaluate prospects about a million times more than a guy from Lebanon.

100% agree! Until the UK game happened that is...:ermm:

I never stated that I could evaluate talent. I just said that our head coach has lost more games than he has won over a 5 year coaching career. Of course his coaching ability should be in question. If his career record says anything, it is that he could land the #1 recruiting class and still fight to be .500.

Thats a crock. You have already made your mind up and continue to harp on the same things. This is the recruiting forum and he's doing an excellent job at recruiting. How can you argue that?

Russell Shepard - Yahoo! Sports

Brian Kimbrow - Yahoo! Sports

6'1" - 5'9" = 4 inches.

While I disagree that they have much in common, I'm not sure what the point is. I'd gladly take Shepard tomorrow.
having different heights has nothing to do with having similar body types...... he means their proportions. You can have 2 people the same height and weight that look totally different because of their body type....why am I wasting time explaining this to folks who obviously will never get it...
@lebanon saying CDD can't recruit/evaluate talent speaks volumes on how much one should take you seriously. If he haws proven anything unquestionably he has proven that.

I honestly don't even know what we're talking about anymore.

I was told Kimbrow won't be able to play in this league because he's too small and lanky, a la Russel Shepard (what?), yet every year small and fast players get in open space and make huge plays in this league. I disagree with both of those points.

where was that said? that he can't play in this league. It was stated he can't be an every-down back and that is pretty much fact.

Thank you. He obviously doesn't understand this. For 5* guy who was one of the most highly recruited guys out of HS, blew up stats in TX football, Shepard has been a disappointment, IMO. I think a lot of that has to do with being recruited as an RB and his size/body-type.

Just curious where it is found that Shepard was no doubt being recruited as a RB? He was a QB on both rivals and scout. I know some mobile QBs are projected to play another position in college, but that is usually stated on the recruiting sites. Other than you, who said LSU was taking him as a RB?

Kimbrow is a RB. He plays that position in highschool and he is being recruited to play that position in college. Comparing him to a dual threat QB 3 years ago that was taller and bigger than him could not make less sense.

Compare him to Demps, Rainey, McCaleb, McCluster, etc.
