This is honestly not even worth arguing about. I'm not sure you could find two more disparate offer lists. Watson is a diamond in the rough at best. I hope he is, but let's not be silly.

If it's so obvious you shouldn't have any problem explaining it...

I've asked this question several times...first regarding Devrin Young now regarding Watson...and the best I've ever gotten is "he just is" or "look at the offer list"...

Offer lists can be explained by attending camps and getting film out to the appropriate mediums...which Watson did neither of...

So please....explain to me why it's so obvious

And how is not being visited by coaches or getting any offers a good thing? Am I missing something? The kid isn't playing in Alaska. He's in Georgia.

Devrin Young is going to be a nice ST player, but I think he was rated correctly as well. Did he score a handful of touchdowns that I missed?

Look, I don't think Kimbrow is going to be some 1st rounder, but I think he's a better prospect based on every metric available to us. I hope Watson proves that to be false, believe me.

You're not missing something...I think you're willfully ignoring the fact that there are plenty of reasons coaches and recruiting sites might not know about a certain player...and there are plenty of other factors that should be considered when comparing one player to another...

I'm not trying to be obtuse here...I would like to know what metrics you are basing this off of...cause it appears you have based your opinion on offers only

No, no Thunder,he based it on stars too. It took him all of 10 seconds to decide who was a better player.

Good post. The Croom thread should be required volnation recruiting forum reading, because so many people fail to understand how the recruiting process works.

Offer lists and rankings by every recruiting service. I'm not a scout. I get my information from the 4 services just like most everyone else here does. For a player who plays 4A football in Georgia, I think that's probably good enough. If they were comparable players based on those measurements, I might see an argument. They aren't. Again, I hope I'm wrong. If you have reason to believe Watson is a better player, I'd like to hear why.

Fair enough...

I just don't see it with Kimbrow...I watch his film and I just see another burner...a guys who outruns people...nothing else...

And at only 0.1 seconds slower in the 100m I'm certain Watson is that guy too...

Kimbrows teammate on the other hand (Redmond)...now there's a ballplayer

Apparently he was pissed because he wasn't the center of attention. So he thought lying on practice dummies and talking back to the staff was a good move at our camp.

I was really disappointed to hear how little effort CCB put into recruiting the Memphis area this year. Heard that from 3 different area coaches. None with an agenda either.

I hear Graham is expected to take the lead in Memphis and I expect that to help immensely.

I have said much of the same and I have had the benefit of seeing him in person maybe 3 times now.

I saw a kid with great straight line speed. Not much in terms of juke moves. Runs out of bounds to easy at times.

Most of his big time numbers came against bad teams or average teams with no defense. When he played against good teams, his OL usually got whipped and he was forced E and W which negated his speed.

That said, I think he will be a solid college player. Will depend on how Vandy can use him and if they can get him in to space. I do think Redmond has a better college career though.

2 of the all time favorite built in excuses for why a kid who picks UT is better than another kid who did not on this board is, He did not go to camps and did not get as much exposure. Or, his offer was not committable. They use these because your going to have a hard time proving it. The UT player may have 2 offers, and the other may have 61. They will still tell you that one of these 2 excuses will work in this or any case. It helps them deal with losing kids to other schools who did not take UT recruits in the past. The thought that a kid may not like Tennessee, is just not a possibility.

That makes sense, and I can buy that argument. I just put a lot of faith behind offer lists, especially in big football states.
