'12 NC OT D.J. Humphries

Yeah, I was talking about QB and OL... From what i've heard, albeit I have heard limited amounts of gator information, Brantley may not have that starting QB spot sewn up... Then again, about the only news I heard about him was after the Spring game, in which, as I understand, he left much to be desired. What's the florida QB and OL situation looking like?

Brantley and three freshmen backups....OL is solid but numbers are the issue. IF Patchan, Wilson and Nixon are heathly thiis could be a strong point. Chaz Green and Ian Silberman are starters atp.

Hey Gator I've got a feeling that the Vols are going to come to the Swamp and take Humphries from you when we smash you all on national tv. Yeah I said it. Lol

But all these ifs on a new offense isn't good. Especially if they're up front. Malik Jackson is going to be hell on your young O-line.

That's pretty bold, not saying it can't happen but until I see some game day action from UT I'll keep my comments to myself. lol

I'd be the happiest Jacksonville resident ever if that happened. I havent seen UT win since we played Ohio state. However I've only been to @uga and @UF. Crossing my fingers this time since I somehow got tickets in the alumni section. Watch for the drunk orange Eric ainge dot in the middle of the sea of blue.

LMAO! New offense crap is overrated....Meyer took over from SOS/Zook pro-style and didn't miss a beat. UF has recruited for the pro-style the last two cycles....#1 FB in the nation and 3 Top 5 TE since 2009. Brantley was 4-5* Pro-style QB coming out of HS...he just a headcase atp. The Oline isn't young, Wilson 5th year Sr, Nixon 2 year starter, Patchan was a starter two years ago...combine they have 26starts/43 games..they've cut their teeth already...add in Halapio and Harrison who have started games the past 2 season.

Your problem last year was your OC. It doesn't matter if you've recruited for a pro-style if you don't run a pro-style offense.

Also, even though you're moving toward a pro-style offense this year, it's going to take some time to adjust. This is still Tennessee's best shot in several years, even though it's at The Swamp.

Meyer's first two years were the exception, not the rule I think. Meyer was just a very good coach, and for the most part made pretty good coaching hires.

I also don't think you're going to have the type of success you've enjoyed during the Meyer or Spurrier glory years until Weis is gone, but that's another story for another day.

What?

UF's O was terrible in 05 and wasn't really that good in 06. You rode the coattails of a dominant D until Meyer got his guys in.

Chris Leak passed for 2700 yd 20TD/6int and the offense ranked 28th in the nation-2005. If anything our D was the weak point in 2005.

Leak looked pretty good his last year under Meyer.

I also think we have time to sneak in an OV before the dead period and after the FSU/UF game with Humphries if he's going to be an EE.

I guess it's going to depend on the deadline to enroll for the next semester.

last year was everyones best chance...FSU and USCjr knew this and beat our azz...UT and UGA dropped the ball.

We'l see. I'm not on the band wagon of any of any of the SEC East teams this year. Except of course Tennessee. :)

i agree last yr was a way better chance

i dont expect this yr to be near as hard to watch

i just smh everytime our offense walked out onto the field last yr :eek:lol:

That's why they play the games to see who the better team is. Hopefully the UT score is better than the UF score when the clock hits 00:00.:)

What makes you think yu won't do this again this year? Who are the pro style backs down there? And who are the pro style WRs? Also I'm wondering who are your starters in the secondary? If we start airing it out little Cody Riggs will be in trouble. Also I have a feeling our young O-line will take this game over. It will come down to if you guys can stop us. Your offense is a huge question mark and Muschump hasn't coached a game for anyone yet. And from what I read about the Gators in the scrimmages, the O-line caught hell all spring. Either Floyd, Easley, and Powell are that good or you have a real problem(combination of both I think).

I feel we have a big advantage in coaching. Dooley really had 2 wins taken from him. Dooley vs an unproven Muschump is a plus for us. That team Dooley had to coach his first year was terrible. New Starters everywhere and he still went bowling plus he brought in a top 15 class. I feel with a better team Dooley will win at least 8 this year. We'll get off to a hot start and roll through a bunch of teams early. After we get to rolling(hopefully) players like Humphries will be ready to hop in the back of the Dooley Truck.

good points but UT's Oct run is going to be brutal....UT has 3 of those games at home so getting a split or going +1 will go a long way in recruiting.

If Tennessee can find a way to be 5-1 going into the Alabama game I would LOVE our chances to winning 8 regular season games.

We've won twice in Gainesville in 40 years. I don't understand all this confidence floating around this site about the Florida game this year.
