Danny now saying he will commit at his homecoming game in October which is before his visit to UT. Says he will visit UT no matter what for the LSU game though. Seems odd that he would commit to Mich then turn right around and visit UT.

He sounded blown away by his visit to UM this weekend. Absolutely blown away.

I don't think it'd be odd for a guy to want to take a free trip to watch potentially the #1 team in America play in front of 105,000.

“It was crazy,” he said. “That was the best game day experience I’ve had anywhere. That was amazing! They really stuck it to (Notre Dame). (The Wolverines) didn’t play the best game, but they really fought to the end. That was a big impression on me. “It is a great atmosphere (at Michigan). It’s electric. It’s electric. It does a lot.”

“(The committed guys) were crazy,” he added laughingly. “They didn’t really have to do any (recruiting), though. (The overall experience) kind of did (the recruiting) itself.”

And when asked if he could see himself fitting into a future Maize & Blue defense, the game’s strong impression instantly became more evident.

“Oh yeah,” replied O’Brien with an obvious grin. “Who wouldn’t want to play in the biggest stadium with most people who ever saw a college football game? Who wouldn’t want to do that?”

Said he is committing at his homecoming game on Oct 7th & he will still visit Tennessee Oct. 15th

If he commits to UM on 10/7, we should revoke his offer and cancel his OV

As I have said for a while, only way this kid is a VOL is if Michigan tells him they do not have room for him.

If you look at his picture on the front page of TOS on the Michigan board, he sure looks the part of a Wolverine. I think the only recruits I noticed decked out in Orange at our game were the kids already commited. Maybe Danny will wear his UT camo hat to our game VS LSU.

I would think that would not be out of the question. I know the VFL thing means alot to CDD and if a kid commits to another school while having an OV set up for a week later at Tennessee..then the kid is just wasting our time. The staff could focus their attention to those visiting that actually still have the Vols as a possibility. JMO

I would not revoke his offer. I would be all for telling him there is no need to make an OV if his mind is made up on Michigan.

Taking his visit no matter what eh? I don't believe that for a minute. No way Dooley wastes time on a kid who just committed to another school. And if the cards fall right for us that LSU game will be twice as wild and loud as the Michigan game.

I would expect the kid to say he is still going to visit UT after his commitment on the 7th. What is he going to say?? "Yeah, once I commit on the 7th...I will not need to visit the Vols on the 15th". It would kind of ruin the public commitment.

I hope the game is not wild at all. 38-17 Vols sounds good to me. No need for all the late game antics..DannyO there or not.

He goes to Michigan if they want him. He is using us as his backup plan. The kid has grown up a Wolverine fan. I grew up in Tennessee and did not want to go anywhere else when I was a kid. I can understand where he is coming from. He probably got caught up on the hype last weekend to solidify his feelings.
As far as his OV, I personally wouldn't give up on any prospect before NSD. Stuff happens and who knows--especially on a position of need.

Everyone on here seems to forget that Hoke told Obrien that he would take his commitment whenever he was ready and to take his time. He commented that it was how Dooley was recruiting him and that he appreciated Michigan finally giving him that option. I have no doubt Michigan is in this big time. I still think he is a Vol.

A lot can happen in a month. Michigan could lose 3-4 between now and then. Momentum...
