Looks like I jumped the gun on posting this. I blame the Michigan fans on the MB and scout, lol.

If I were in Danny's position, I probably would have committed on the spot.

its ridiculous on how bad we have been at recruiting this position since Fulmer's last couple of years I believe.

I have been a faithful member of the Big Orange Nation since 1967 and consider the recruitment of defensive tackles to be, historically, a deeply rooted and chronic problem. When you consider that elite defensive tackles are at a premium and we usually wind up recruiting them from out of state, it is no wonder that we often wind up bride’s maids in recruiting battles at that position.

Consequently, we have often had to produce serviceable tackles from beefing up undersized linemen, players who ideally would be better suited as DEs (e.g. Malik Jackson). Fulmer had more success when he had the recruiting juggernaut running at peak efficiency and signed Henderson, Haynesworth and Mahelona. In my memory, John Henderson and Reggie White are the only dominant defensive tackles we have had who were homegrown. In all probability, the only long-term solution to accessing this pipeline will be found via major improvement in the win-loss ledger, thus making the program, as a whole, more desirable to those coveted 4-and 5-star DTs.

ND/Mich was quite a game. I was afraid that Danny might get caught up in the hype and commit. If he has held off, that's good for us. It'll give him time to come off that high and think with a clearer mind. On the flip side, I wonder, if ND's struggles continue, will Day start reconsidering his commitment?

Because common sense tells you that if he wanted to go to Michigan and that is "heart is there" like some have suggested then he would've already committed while all of his "buddies" were pressuring him. He has not said one thing to change that TN is his leader.

Common sense huh? I hope your right.

He was in Ann Arbor last night and it feels like Michigan has momentum with him. He has alot of friends going to school there.

Night game, raucous crowd, in his backyard, comeback win. Yeah, I'd probably want to go to Michigan if I was a recruit visiting last night.

If he didn't commit while there then I wouldn't expect him to. He has had plenty of chances but hasn't.

Has Michigan come out and said they would take his commitment now? Did they free up a spot? He can't commit to them if they are telling him to wait and see if they have room.

How is it that Michigan had never hosted a night game until last night? Did they just now install lights there?

Ya pretty sure anyone at that game last night wants to go to Michigan cant deny it. Was one of best games I ever watched. unfortunately, not to the favor of us

It was exciting, for sure. But those were two of the worst defenses I've ever seen. I'm pretty sure Cincy would beat both Michigan and ND.

It is sooo obvious he is a VOL lock. Anyone who would question it is just not paying attention. Our DL recruiting has been unstoppable for years now and we can cherry pick anyone we want. People who doubt it just do not know what is going on.

I remember recruits last year absolutely loving their visits even though we lost.

Also, chanting "Seven Nation Army" over and over again doesn't give you a great atmosphere, it just makes you look stupid.

Okay...so now you're hanging on to this one... desperately hoping that he picks UM... since all of your other unreasonably pessimistic predictions and opinions have been exposed for the ignorant nonsense that they are...

At least you're consistent...:thumbsup::thumbsup:
