Here's our D.Menzie. And no Jay he is no Menzie lol but hell he's as close as we can get to him as we can get this year. Plus we don't have anything proven at CB. Big pickup and my favorite Defensive prospect along with Peters, O'Brien, McNeil, T.Taylor, Gray, and of course big boy Sentimore.(yeah I'm kinda hyped about this Defensive class).

Lockdown, you're severly underestimating how good Menzie was coming outta Juco.
I like Jacobs, I Loved Menzie.
Menzie minus that achilles injury starts at every school in the country.

I can't put these 2 in the same sentence.
Byron Moore was a better prospect than Jacobs at same points in their careers

Lanier surprised me this season. I don't know if proven is the word I would use , but from him coming in out of shape , I thought he would be a total bust from the things being said by people like Zas and others.

No I'm not at all. I'm saying we don't have s*** at CB right now and he's as close as we can get to Menzie after the achilles. Menzie was easily a first round talent pre injury and still may be. I don't know if Jacobs can play press coverage but if he can at least be a poor man's Menzie hell I'll take over what we've been getting.

I still personally like Moore att FS. I think he would be a monster there.

How fast is this kid? It got real old seeing Lanier getting burned time and time again last season. I know that some of it is due to technique and not reading routes fast enough but it will be nice to have a solid secondary next season.

Fast. Good football speed.

More of the roasting of our secondary was because of technique than speed. Byron Moore pretty much had no idea what he was going to be playing from week to week because of injuries. And PreWagg is much better at CB, and should be able to stay there this year.

I think even in Jacobs isn't the starting corner, he keeps the guys in front of him on their tippy-toes. And whoever is starting will have much better help over the top because of more experienced Randolph, Moore, and Brewer (plus McNeil and Orta looking to steal playing time).

Hopefully we can keep Waggner at CB all next year. He's obviously much better in coverage than in run support where he's undersized.

He's fast, 4.3 guy. He's an upgrade just with athleticism alone. We'll see what type of player we get this year. Hopefully we can get a damn cover corner in here.

I'm just happy he's an EE. That should give him plenty of time to adjust to things. Couch and Moore really started to make an impact the second part of the season. They weren't EEs however.

Its just incredible to me that we are 3 recruiting classes into this process and are still relying on the potential immediate impacts of true freshman and JUCOs. I mean no offense to Jacobs, the guy is obviously a serious upgrade for this football team, I just long for the day when we won't see some of these freshman until they are 2 or 3 years into the program...
