'11 TE Eric MacLain

Sorry to be off topic but how do I start a thread I've been trying to figure it out but I just can't seem to do it. I want to start a new thread. As for Eric MacLain I hope we get him back.

anything new abouit Eric?

Yea, he's not too high on us anymore according to new article

He also looked very at TE as he has trimmed down to 247. HE didnt like the O-Lineman talk and has slimmed down.

didnt drop a pass and won Camp MVP

and about Tennessee,

MacLain is moving on.

OUCH! :shakehead:

"I think at first it was a lack of communication (that resulted in the de-commitment) and then just I needed to get a feel for the family (at Tennessee), and that's what I kind of lost with the former staff (under Phil Fulmer getting fired)---I kind of got it back with (Lane) Kiffin."

"I've just got to find it again if that's where I'm going to end up," MacLain added about the Volunteers. "But we're going to make sure that we've got the 'Cinderella Shoe' fit."

MacLain is making an extensive tour of multiple campuses over the next several days, as he's taking advantage of his Spring Break to get out and about.

"While we're on Spring Break right now (this week), we're going to Virginia Tech and then down to Knoxville (for a Tennessee visit) and then to Clemson to wrap it up, but over the summer I'm going to Penn State's camp, Duke's camp, and Tennessee's camp---we're going all over the place," he said.

While clearly Tennessee is still in play for MacLain, he says he's still very much open to several different programs.

Per Rivals...

MacLain will be on campus either tomorrow or Wednesday and then is returning again for camp in June.

If he is going to shed weight, I'd rather have him at TE then OT. We are going to bring in minimum 2 TE's probably 3. It sounds as if the OT talk has rubbed him the wrong way...

I think we are kind of getting away from the athletic O-lineman, and going w/ the big hogs. Thats atleast what Saban has going for him... Fluker and Carpenter

MacLain looks like a legit TE now. I would love to have him. Getting the duo of MacLain and Heuerman would be awesome.

We need this guy. Looks like a college TE now.

We will see if he wants to be here though. Seems like even though Dooley started slow with Eric, Eric was looking for a reason to look around anyway. If you are TRULY committed, you are patient when a coaching change happens and don't jump the gun because the new coach doesn't call you right off the bat. I think he wants to go elsewhere, but he's a fan prospect and he's torn about it. He needs to make the decision that makes the most SENSE for him, because we need people who want to help build this program and be a team player.

Hopefully he'll see the way we use Stocker, and realize he could get serious PT as a frosh. I still feel good about him until he says we're out and commits elsewhere.

I honestly think we are out at this point. The longer he waits to commit, the worse the Vols outlook is.

I can't see how you can say we are out. He is visiting UT either Wednesday or Thursday this week and will be here for camp in June as well.

I think that he is a fan prospect that is torn. Look what happened with Aaron Douglas, and don't think for a minute that Eric isn't thinking about that situation. I WANT him here, I just think he has to convince himself that he WANTS to be here. Right now, I don't like our chances as it stands at this point. Could that change next week after his visit?? Sure, I just don't hear enough positive things coming from him to say we are going to land him. I think we are Top 3-4 though, and that list probably changes every week.
