'11 TE Eric MacLain

This kid seems to be stand-up. I would love to see him wearing orange next year, it would say alot if he re-committed after all of the ups and downs he has be put through during his recruitment. I hope he succeeds wherever he goes.

But the kid did go to Duke's junior day and does really like Cutcliffe. He was all Vol but now he is comparing schools and staffs. I know he was impressed at TN Junior Day. Lets hope he was impressed enough to sign with the Vols in Feb.

Maclains recruitment will be interesting to watch....we will continue to recruit other TE's heavily...from the rumblings on tos and Maclains direct quotes he does appear to be set on playing TE in college... I hope Maclain signs with UT...but imo there are few more TE's in front of him on UT's board...

He is an OL all the way.

Well from what I've heard we're going after 2 tight ends I don't know which ones. But with our need at OL he will be an OL all the way.

Wherever he goes "prob OL" I'm just glad we're back in good. He's going to be solid and the kid flat out wants to be in orange. I'm glad we're back in good graces with the young man and I hope the best for him and hope he will re-affirm his commitment

Hope DD doesnt take him.from what i have read he seems to be set on being TE.and.@245 will be a while before he would be able to play OL if that was a possibility. also last year he had around 120 yards on 9 receptions and 2 td for the entire season? imo he does not to be the explosive TE we want and others seem to be ahead of him on our want list and i hope we get a couple of those.

245? Every listing I've seen is in the 265-270 range.

i saw a post on tos where he said he was 245 fwiw..i know weight, height, speed etc is always overstated from reality

MacLain (6-foot-5 and 245 pounds) is a physical specimen. He know his strengths and is working really hard on his weaknesses.
from tos

time will tell i guess..6'5" 245lb per volquest on 2/27/10 who knows who is telling the truth..but eric did say he was faster his 2nd 20 yards than his first 20 yrds..i just have serious doubts about him but i trust DD to make the right choices

He's bigger than 245, and he's a legit player.

"It was good to finally meet the coaches and sit down and talk to them," MacLain said. "They cleared some things up. It's Tennessee football. It's not going to change.

"I like coach Dooley and the way he spoke. He is an honest man. We got to go over some Xs and Os. It's was fun."
