As of right now I'm committed," he said. "I'm just waiting to talk to Coach Dooley to see if he wants me. Everything my father is saying is that if he is anything like his father then great things will happen at Tennessee.
"I haven't talked to him yet, but I plan to go up there for the Kentucky basketball game on February 27th to meet with him and find out more."
MacLain is clearly sticking by the Volunteers and gave his take on what he likes about Tennessee still.
"I just like the proximity to home," he said. "I lived there for nine years and most of my family lives there. It just is the feel of Rocky Top on Saturdays. The tradition of the football team."
"We are set up to come over for the Kentucky basketball game on the 27th," MacLain said. "That's Tennessee junior day and it will be the first time talking to coach Dooley. I am looking forward to meeting and talking to him."
"I am still committed to Tennessee and will stay that way unless coach Dooley and his staff no longer want me," MacLain said. "My dad and I have talked and we are going to see how things go at Tennessee in two weeks and will decide whether on not anything is going to change in my recruitment."
I also like converting DL guys over to OL. It would be nice to be loaded up on DL to be able to do that but that's not the case for us. I would see why Dooley wouldn't want MacLain. This kid will be solid player at the next level.
