I'm not going to lie when we first started recruiting him & he only had offers from Troy, Auburn, & Tennessee I was a little worried about his skill set but apparently the reason he did'nt have alot of offers were because schools were waiting on his grades & now he will def be an EE so thats why Florida, Ole Miss, ect.. have offered & come on strong the past two weeks.
Jmo, how strong are the talks between UF and Lanier? I asked the guys over on 247 and they didn't know much about his recruitment with UF. The JUCO guys were Moore, Daimion Stafford and Ivan Nicholas.
Moore was set for an OV until the coaches spoke with him and to his coach. From my understanding they got the feel he was leaning towards staying on the LC maybe that's when talks with Lanier began. It just seems strange that none of our recruiting guys have much info.
Four star syndrome. Any kid with a good rating and offer list is expected to come in and take the job of the player that had an equally good rating and offer list yet didn't make all conference as a FR or SO and therefore "busted". Nearly every player thread four star or above has at least a few "he will start as a freshman" posts....and it was the same way even when we weren't so thin.LOL I wondered the same thing. Again, some in this fanbase have totally unrealistic expectations for freshman. What he did this year at corner was outstanding for a freshman in this league. Plus he got better and better as the season went along.
Freshman dont just step on to campus in the SEC and play like a mature junior and senior from the get-go. It's unbelievable to me that people actually expect that.
Have a friend who lives in Laniers Home town. He said he was a stud athelete, but not sure he can qualify academically.
I guess people are holding expectations too high (or just have unrealistic expectations of our team given the circumstances). Gordon has decent size for a guy his height, hes physical, and athletic. Let him learn the game.
