'11 MS JUCO DB Izauea Lanier (Tennessee Commit)

According to an article I just read Lanier did'nt make the grades to get into Auburn in the '09 class so he went to East Mississippi College last season & had 66 tackles, four interceptions and nine pass breakups last season. He has redshirted this season so he could be eligible for 3 years & focus on school work.

Also here are some stats from Laniers Senior year in High School: Rushed for 871 yards and had 870 yards receiving. Recorded 68 tackles and seven interceptions on defense. Returned a punt and a kickoff for a touchdown.

There were some rumors going around that Lanier didnt have the grades that why Auburn dropped him so I asked Hubbs & he said that Lanier does have to finish this semester at JUCO strong to be an EE but he doesnt see it a problem

JB said if he doesnt end up being an EE that he would graduate in May & Tennessee would still take him.

That what I posted a few weeks back as the rumored reason they parted ways. Because the coaches didn't feel he would make the grades to be an EE.

I hear Therezie is leaning pretty strong to Auburn and that had a lot to do with it as well. Is that what you heard?

When did UF come in with an offer HG? CUM doesn't seem to be too worried about qualifying since he's offered this late in the process. It amazes me that CUM feels like they need DB's after a pretty good haul last year and having 5 committed already.

Meyer knows he needs some corners. Our WRs are a bad matchup for his CBs so he's trying to bring some size down there fast.

 Cody Riggs got BAPTISED vs the Criminoles.

Jeremy Brown  No bueno ...

Why do so many people dislike Gordon? He's a RS Freshmen after all...I don't think he's done bad at all. He ****** up on special teams a couple times, but who hasn't on our squad?

because apparently you are as talented as you ever will be as a freshman now..

People do the same thing to Raijon and some others. Also, the **** that Oku gets blows my mind as well. People seem to forget that at a good program you don't even get your shot to play until your junior year most of the time, and that is because you need to develop.. It seems like common sense to me.

I guess because he muffed some punts. He is a pretty good cover guy, and everyone has to learn how to effectively play zones. He is a good player. I only wish he was 3-4 inches taller.

I guess people are holding expectations too high (or just have unrealistic expectations of our team given the circumstances). Gordon has decent size for a guy his height, hes physical, and athletic. Let him learn the game.

i personally really like gordon because he is one of the few that will actually come up and hit someone. he is lacking in coverage but that will come.

This. He's got the right attitude. Everyone should want a kid on their squad that has talent and is all try. New Defensive scheme with an abundance of zone/man mixes + red shirt freshman= learning curve. It'll come.

Lanier has visits lined up (per Rivals) to several places (including UF) after he visits us. He may not be the lock we think he is.

In regards to Gordon, Teague and all our young corners (not Art Evans) I read this before on rivals in regards to Blake Countess who many on here wish we wouldve got... Corner is the most difficult defensive position to have an early impact. Look for a redshirt season followed by a season on special teams and nickel/dime packages. Countess should become a very good two-year starter. Just dont think we give up on these guys yet and expect young unproven guys to jump over them in the rotation.

LOL @ people ragging on Gordon. Typical of some in this fan base. They expect all freshman to act and play like juniors and seniors the moment they step on campus. Unbelievable. The kid is a future stud.

Sorry if this has already been posted but Ole Miss, Florida, & Arkansas has offered Lanier.

He has visits set up for Tennessee (Dec 3), Ole Miss (Dec 8), Florida (Dec 10), & Arkansas (Dec 13).

Other than attractive women why would any want to go to Ole Miss? Houston Nutt is horrible.

Other than for keeping me alive, why would I want to breathe? Seriously brother, what could be more important to a young adult than hot chicks?
