'11 MS JUCO DB Izauea Lanier (Tennessee Commit)

I believe CDD is building a TEAM. Not a bunch of 4 and 5 star I'm the man, give me the ball coach. There is no I in team and I feel too many 4 and 5 stars can give a bunch of I's to the team and then you don't really have a team. Rather have good players that play great as a team, then a bunch or 4 and 5 stars that play good as a team. Go Big Orange! Let this staff show what they got.

Are you saying only 4 and 5 stars have bad attitudes? Do you recommend he not recruit 4 and 5 stars?

You better hurry up and tell Dooley that considering over half the class he signed last year (if you combine the various services and how they ranked Tennessee's recruits) were 4-stars.

Coach Dooley is making strides tho. You cant call our QB,WR,OL,and DB tallent average. I'd also say our RB tallent is above average. He's still got some work to do but IMO he's getting us to where we want to be.

I think he's making strides too. There is no doubt heading into this year the talent is in the freshman and sophomore classes and it looks like legit SEC talent. It's far superior to what they have in the upperclasses.

I love what they've done in recruiting offensively the last 2 years, same with the secondary, they just need to get the talent in the front 7. They've gotten some good individuals there but not enough.

If they can address the front 7 in this year's recruiting class (say 2 big-time players at DT, 2 at DE and 2 at LB) then I will start feeling very good about the Tennessee program 2-3 years from now.

No not saying 4 and 5 stars have bad attitudes or not all. Have to be selective, some have a attitude that would be detrimental to a team as a whole because of a sense of entitlement. Just saying that CDD is being very selective in his recruiting as to find players with character and that would be a better fit in a team environment. When you get a team full of guys on the same page and with a common goal, IMHO I think its better than a team with those, maybe a few that destroy a teams chemistry with a sense of entitlement and selfishness.

2 at DE,DT and LB is the minimum we should get. Going by how Coach Dooley addressed OL and DB last year he will probably overload our possitions of need this year at DL and LB.

Nail...hammer...boom!!

It just means Bonner and Gray will have to step up. Don't worry, guys. We have talent on campus.

Freshmen forced into playing before they are ready rarely ends well. So far we've lost our back up tight end and starting corner. Why can't we lose players that don't matter?! That was mean but ohhhh well.

This could potentially open up another spot for the next signing class

That's what I was coming here to ask...how does this affect the # we sign?

However...since he's ineligible for 2012, doesn't that mean if he stays at UT, gets his grades back up, and can rejoin the team in '13, he'll still count--for the '13 roster, not the '12?
