Not gonna lie. I was on the MB lastnight and some pretty reliable USC posters were saying he was all Vol and they had talked to some ppl in the know but because it was fresh I didn't wanna jump to conclusions. The fact that he's talked up every team except us in the last 12 hrs, I have a lot better feeling about it now. There's a lot of smoke in our direction guys...

USC has much bigger holes they need to worry about, I am shocked they would even offer him with their limited scholarships.

Apparently they can take 23 kids in this class once back-counting is factored in. For whatever reason, they want 3 WRs and the kid they've already got, Arnett and George Farmer are the ones they're hard after.

I'm not exactly sure. Just heard from multiple people that that's how their numbers work out this year. May be wrong, I honestly don't know.

since they are appealing that part of the sanctions they can take the ncaa maximum at this point. if they settle they'll have to take less obviously.

hmm im not sure either. but i was under the impression that a team could sign 25, and backcount 3, making the max 28. so if they can only sign 15, i figured backcounting 3 puts them at 18. im not sure though.

Backcounting has to do with the number of people you signed in the previous signing class. It's not one certain number for every team, I think.

but i thought the MAX you could backcount was 3? maybe i am just remembering that as a specific number tennessee could backcount in the past.

Saw all of this and had the same reaction to it as you. He's tweeted bout Sparty this morning, but 0 bout TN lately.

Just heard from someone in the know (don't ask who....I'm not going to go there) who is very close to the Arnett situation. He thinks Arnett is a Vol. Said it isn't 100%, but that he would put his money on Tennessee. Said Arnett really loves the coaches here and that he likes how Tennessee is far from home, but not too far.

Combine this with Paul and Brent's comments, and things are looking really sunny on this one.
