'11 MI WR DeAnthony Arnett - UT Commit

"When I got around the players, we just hit it off," said Arnett. "It was really like I was already on the team. Kyle Prater was my host, so I hung out with Kyle and RoJo (Ronald Johnson) the most."

"Ronald Johnson told me that if you come out to USC and do good, you know you're going to make it to the next level. That's just a fact. That's been proven over the past years. And then with the connections and everything, you're going to make it."

"I like that it's a private school, and getting a degree in business from USC I can get a great job anywhere in the country when I get out of college," said Arnett. "That's what I really like. I'm always looking at the business schools and USC definitely has a top notch program in that field."

"I didn't see anything I'd hesitate over," said Arnett. "If there was something I missed, my family would tell me. They haven't told me anything yet."

From this point on, the recruiting process remains uncharted and open ended for Arnett. With no further official visits scheduled, he has yet to reveal his next move.

"Everything met my expectations at USC," said Arnett. "I got what I was looking for out of the visit. It really wowed me. Right now, I'm just talking it over with the family to see what I'm going to do next."

If he goes to SC , he has killed any shock value building up for his announcement. I only say this because he seems to care about that. He hasn't said much about Tennessee lately. If he picks us after saying all of this about SC , he has no idea how many fans he would win over here. Arnett is a smart kid. I hope he knows better than to believe everything he is told.

I really have to wonder about Kiffin's strategy. They got Woods, Prater, and Ambles last year. They've got Blackwell this year, and they're looking good with Farmer and Arnett. Why would they take 3 more WRs when they've already got 3 5* WRs from last year and when they've got major scholarship restrictions over the next 3 years to deal with?

i dont know if kiffin was being totally serious or not, but he did mention something about switching to a spread offense next season.

He's very serious.
because his numbers will be down, it makes sense. U can see him incorporating some plays into the playbook vs Oregon.
the spread is the ultimate equalizer when your talent is down

If they do go to the spread, they will alway look good in practice because Monte cannot defend against the spread.

I'm gonna go on record (like that is worth anything) and call Vol. He has specifically said in the past he loves using misdirection in media to throw stalkers off. This almost confirms USC is out IMHO

Or was him saying he loves using misdirection a misdirection?

Allen Trieu, Scout's Midwest Recruiting Manager, interviewed Arnett yesterday after his visit to USC. Trieu says the Vols are the team to beat.

Bryant said he "strongly" feels that Arnett will be a Vol.

Fortenberry on VQ made a call to Arnett's family last night and everything is still looking for us. The VQ guys keep saying he is a Vol.
