No.
It has very little to do with Lane Kiffin. Let's face it: if DeAnthony picks Tennessee, not only is he looking at early playing time, but he is looking at flourishing in this system. We lose Gerald and Denarius after this season. Next year, we'll only have Zach (senior), Da'Rick (sophomore), Justin (sophomore), Matt (redshirt sophomore or freshman?), and Vincent (freshman). Adding DeAnthony would help our depth at wide receiver. He picks USC, and he'll find it very difficult to squeeze into an already crowded depth chart at WR. That goes without saying, the system under Kiffin is much less controlled than it is here under Dooley. If DeAnthony comes here, he will prosper, given all of the resources he has at his disposal (the coaches, the Vol For Life program, and of course, us, the fans). If he goes to USC, then he won't really prosper, because with Lane Kiffin and his staff, it is more about football and winning rather than developing the players as men (meaning in the classroom and in the real world as well as on the field).
Let me say again that the point of this argument is not about hating Lane Kiffin (even though many on here would be justified in doing so). I'm only saying that given the two depth charts and the cultures of both schools, it would not be a smart decision on DeAnthony's part to choose USC. If he does, however, or if he chooses any other school, for that matter, it will sting a little, but I won't really lose sleep over it.
