Gabe was a Barner for a long time. Yes, UT caught his attention towards the end but he was not going to go anywhere else. The kid loves attention and played the he!! out of the recruiting game. UT just kind of fell in at the right time to add more excitement to his announcemet, I don't mean that in a bad way.

I can agree with that, but I do think we led for a while about a month before NSD. Then Auburn's push/CCS's departure became too much to overcome.

I don't know why everyone got all riled up or what was so classless. Condescending jabs? I was simply pointing out that FB pictures should be taken with a grain of salt, especially this early on. Some people will start acting like he is a lock and if he doesn't end up at UT it will be a meltdown for some guys. Same with a lot of UGA fans if he doesn't end up a Dawg.

I think UT has a decent chance here, just like I think UT was really, truly in it for GW, but I do think Geno ends up at UGA in the end. The way things look right now, I would anticipate this one coming down to UGA/UT/Bama battle.

Seems like not everybody is over Gabe Wright yet. I was on here telling everybody to calm down on what Gabe was saying publicly, and many did not want to hear it then either. The Gabe thread is full of good stuff, pretty good read if you're bored.

First of all, No one on this board that I'm aware of was ever all excited or considered GW a vol lock.

Secondly, GW verbally committed to CDD in September. Some insiders knew this, and reported that we had a good shot at getting him, yet even they were reluctant to call it a lock because GW was/is very wishy washy, and everyone on here knew AU would be a major player in the end.

I followed his recruitment close and remember it well, but I don't remember much contribution from you. And I can assure you that you added NOTHING to this board that was not already known by many. So ****. JMO

Exactly. But according to dumbass, we were never really in it and he only did it to create excitement in the end. UGAinsidet you have been consistently wrong. Either the source where you're getting your info sucks, or you don't actually have sources and everything you say is just opinion. I'm guessing the latter.

Ive got to agree with my vol brethren. By insider do you mean inside the athletic department? If thats the case, why would you be on our boards giving us your info. While i dont mind you being on here at all, I think it comes across as a little condescending to some to call yourself UGAinsider.

Look back at the Gabe thread, all the fun stuff is there.

We all know what happens in the recruiting game, nothing that is said means anything until the LOI gets faxed in.

Gabe has a RB teammate that we were after, so I kind of new a few things that were being said around Columbus. My source there didn't really feel real sure about Gabe but also told me he would be very surprised if Gabe ended up anywhere else but AU. Honestly, I never really cared to know anything that was going in with Gabe, it was just extra info to talk about.

I also shared some info about '12 DT Derious Bennett who comes from the same Hs. I heard info from that kid from the best source out there. You don't have to believe what I post.

You guys can say what you want about my info, its all good.

The info about an athlete in Georgia that UGA has offered has about a 70-100% chance of being correct when the "insider" says he is going to Athens. That is like an "insider" in Tennessee saying an athlete offered by UT from Milan, Pearl-Cohn HS, Knox Bearden, or Knox Farragut is going to sign with UT.

Point being, not much risk saying you are an "insider" regarding a recruit in Georgia.

If you're going to continue with this charade, show us where you provided any inside info on GW's recruitment. Seems to me you don't even know the basics of his recruitment.

As Plains pointed out, GW was never leaning to UT publicly. 98% of his public comments from start to finish pointed to AU. Yet you act as if he was publicly saying UT when he was privately leaning to AU. You got it backwards.

As I did say in that thread, he was 'silently' committed to more than one school. Heck, there were rumors he committed to Clempson as well.

If you don't think Gabe played the he!! out of the recruiting game, then I hate to tell you but you have no clue about his recruitment. In all fairness though, there's some guys on here who did not buy what Gabe was saying.

This isn't about showing anybody up, just simply stating what I believe to be true. I have nothing to prove to anybody. Why don't you show me where I post blatant lies about somebody. We're talking about HS kids, not all info that comes out will always be accurate unfortunately. This happens to all teams and will continue to happen, no reason to get all excited about it.

Great now this clown...people post lock many times for reasons other than literal, as you know. Yes some thought we'd get GW, and they had good reason to think so, given the FACTS, not the BS rumors you guys want to claim was the reason for their confidence.

You'll always have a few outliers, but the overall mood of this board was one of cautious optimism. Most of us never really felt confident about GW until the last few days before NSD, when GW was telling other recruits he was a vol, and the day before giving the staff his word, NONE OF WHICH WAS PUBLIC. And even then, I highly doubt anyone on this board or anywhere in America was really surprised that he signed with AU. No one could have predicted Taylor stooping to the levels he did the day before NSD, but like I said no one was shocked by it.

Bottom line, I see a couple of rival fans on a vol board trying to take credit for some "inside info" they supposedly provided, but we wouldn't accept. In reality UGAHomer provided nothing and has no clue what happened. And even if you did say he was privately commited elsewhere, it's not like you had some "inside" knowledge. We already knew that, it was common knowledge. So go back to your own boards to stroke your egos.
