I've got a question...if Wright is truly a Vol then why is he playing Auburn so much? What does he gain from doing all the pro-Auburn things he is doing?

I understand that some recruits like to play the game but Wright is doing it to an extreme I don't think I've ever seen

These guys only get to do this once and some of them like the world watching when sign. Nobody is going to be watching if everybody already has a pretty good idea of where you are going. It happens with recruits every year. Gabe has been a Vol since Aug. Just sit back and enjoy the show.

Nope -- Gabe is not even close to Arnett when it comes to confusing signals in the recruiting game. One thing a lot of folks here have forgotten is that in the very beginning of recruiting season, Gabe said that he would not be telling the truth to anyone the whole way. I believe he has done exactly what he said he would do.

Gabe Wright will be a Vol on NSD.

Clemson Mods are saying he won't take anymore non-scheduled visits.

I believe he still will be taking his visit to Auburn in 2 weeks.

I want to believe this one is over but I don't yet.

Have they changed their stance on that? I ask because this is what flowd82 quoted directly from them:

We've talked to a few contacts closely connected to Wright's recruiting and that in-home visit will no longer be taking place. Wright doesn't plan to take any more visits at this time.

I hope they mean visits...period...and not just unscheduled visits

Gabe has been a silent to us for a few months now, only problem is many believe hes a silent to au as well. he reaffirmed he wanted to be a vol over the weekend, had pretty much his entire family in knox with him. like ive said all along, i dont trust him at this point and will not believe til we see the signed papers on nsd.
He'll be a Vol. You can't trust the kid he is playing everyone. But mama wants him at UT and mama don't play.

He lives less than an hour away from AU. Maybe he likes the attention that comes with being a "silent" to AU or maybe he just wants the AU fans to leave him the hell alone. Who knows with this kid but he is practically in AU's backyard, I can't understand the subterfuge.

I just read that he was implying unscheduled visits (a la what this Clemson visit was going to be).

I will be very suprised if he doesn't visit Auburn officially.

he is visiting Auburn officially this weekend for their National Championship celebration.

"maybe he just wants the AU fans to leave him the hell alone." Chad has a point.

I just wanted to put out there that while I'm not in favor of recruits mom's or dad's "running the show," I do think Dooley is & will continue to be or get even more popular with parents, which will be quite helpful over the coming years. Dude exudes professionalism, intelligence, & character, plus a genteel southern accent. Dude's no dummy on how to get parents to like his school. IMO.

Is IC going to Bama? Haven't followed his recruiting closely. I'm just thinking that 2 kids announcing to AU and Bama at the same time would be pretty funny.

Crowell to UGA, Wright to AU. IMO. Hopefully UT can get Wright though.
