So this begs the question, if Gabe Wright does sign with Auburn, which is a good possibility, who does Dooley go after to replace him? Do we attempt at another mid-talent DL prospect, or do we fill his spot with the best possible player on our board, regardless of position?

Since the dead period starts a few days before NSD, I don't think Dooley can contact anyone with an offer or anything like that. There should be no contact with anyone except student athletes that signed the LOI. So I doubt anyone would be able to take his spot, but I think the coaches will know whether or nor most kids will be signing with them or not prior to signing day.

Do we have any interest in Xzavier Ward? The new article on the ajc makes it seem like SEC schools are wanting him to grey shirt.

Sorry no link. Having trouble making it work from iPad.

Ward is an OT -- we are well stocked on the O-Line. What we need are DT's (Wright is a DT).

Andrew Buie, a RB prospect, was scheduled to visit Auburn this weekend. Recently he was told by Auburn not to visit this weekend because only commitments were visiting this weekend. Now I'm not sure if they were using this as an excuse to nicely tell Buie they were full and not interested anymore or if it really was the truth (DOUBT IT). But if they were telling the truth then I would say that really speaks volume to Gabe's decision. If he is visiting Auburn this weekend during their National Championship celebration weekend and this weekend is "just for Auburn commitments" then that should be pretty telling of his intentions. Of course I wouldn't doubt it at all if he is completely playing Auburn. This is the announcement everyone will be watching on NSD.

My guess is that was Auburn's way of telling Buie they don't want him.

As has been said, both TN and AUB seem to like their chances with Wright. Gribble said today he knows people at both schools and believes the Auburn people are more confident than the TN people. FWIW.
