$100 A Barrel Oil is on the Way

Glad to hear it. Makes me feel better to know my endless slacking at work does some good in this world.

:)

doesn't TT get some love too. He was the first to point it out, since I was busy researching Egyptian leadership and assassination legacies.

I took his post more as a teacher kindly pointing out to a student a simple error. No harm. You sounded more like a smartass older brother.

:)

Thats not true because Oil speculators would start to sell future long term contratcs instead of buying. Just knowing that more oil will be available in the future would ease the prices.
but those speculators have to have a buyer on the other side to consummate the transaction. The day of the speculators driving the oil market will subside and pricing will better reflect supply and demand, as it should.

Let me rephrase that... It would bring in more people who would be willing to sell oil contracts like the oil company who is drilling offshore to lock in production in today's prices to insure a profit, instead of everyone trying to buy oil contracts like they are today because nobody currently knows where our oil will come from in 5 years.

I suggest this plan for Obama since he hates Big Oil so much.

Obama
- confident alternative energies that are efficient and affordable are within reach
- confident that drilling in ANWR and offshore is a waste as it will not help for 10 years and by then we will not need it.

Then, let Big Oil have ANWR and offshore drilling. Thus, 10 years from now when we are weened off of oil, look at the huge economic losses these companies will incur as they are getting their first taste of the oil from these places and no one needs it any longer. A Win/Win for you Obama!

how is Obama going to be able to promote "alternative" energy solutions such as windpower when his dear friend Ted Kennedy adopted a NIMBY approach when a windfarm was proposed off of Martha's Vineyard?
