Wouldnt it be great for Cam and the Vols to beat Florida's ass the next 2 years with an ex gator leading the way. I dont think Coach Kiffin wants to go through another 7-5 or 6-6 season next year or year after. Bray will be great, but needs a redshirt season and alittle time. If Vols get Luc,Jones,Taylor,Willis,Miller,Smith,Lemonier,Dixon and Menzie, the defense will be good enough to win alot of games, but with Newton at Qb,Brown healthy, Jones,Moore,Thompkins, and Ambles at wr, Vols could beat anyone anywhere and would win minmum 10 games, maybe 14. Cam Newton = National Championship. Lets go Vols!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our offensive line, and schedule won't allow us 10 wins next year.

No not committed to msu waiting on vols to make their mind up. I thought this was volnation not vandynation as far as character issues are concerned.if vols don't sign newton I guarantee no more than 6 wins probably less.a lot of young kids have had maturity issues, he is 2 years older now and would give vols chance to win a lot of games next year.

This team wouldn't win 10 games next year if we brought Peyton back as QB.

Disciplinary issues are the reason he is no longer at Florida. The day we go to perform an evaluation he's suspended for the first half because of "disciplinary issues." I don't know the full situation, but I think if we were gonna offer we would have done it by now.

This is what I got out of this whole page.

You guys may be right about Vols not offering him. In the second half he did throw for over 320 yards and i would bet we were still there watching and i bet we saw this past weeks game and we will be watching him win juco national championship very soon. My blood has ran orange for 38 years and the last 2 years has killed me. Newton would make us very good next year. Lets put Cullen and Douglas at tackles, Green and James at guards, Thompkins,Jones,Ambles, and Moore at wr's,BB at rb, Cam at QB and see what happens. I dont think we would lose 2 games, maybe not any with the defensive recruits coming in. Miller,Willis,Smith,Lemonier on d-line,Luc,Jones,Taylor at linebackers,Dixon,Menzie,Rogan, and jackson behind them. Not many teams could beat that. I'm ready to win! Let's go Vols!!!

There is a 0 may I repeat 0 percent chance this kid EVER plays for UT
Says you...so glad you're now part of the staff and making key personnel decisions...so CLK can concentrate on more important things....like insuring that there are enough chicken wings to go around for lunch.
This team could fall apart if he lets that slip. :)

That's a lot of freshmen you're tossing into the starting lineup for a team with potentially the hardest schedule in the nation next year...

True, but Coach Kiffin will play the best players whether they are freshmen or seniors. Mccluster wouldn't run for 282 on that defense. Kiffin did as good as he could with what he had, next year will be a different story.

I like to do what I can

With this guy, it's a matter of risk vs reward. The reward here far outweighs the minor risk he may present. This guy is flat out the best chance we have at being in the SECC mix next year. Without him, I think we can relatively count on having a season roughly similar to this one.

I'm very hopeful for Bray, but as much as he and we would like to see him play early, I think it puts a monstrous burden on him to start him as a true freshman. Even Peyton had his freshman year struggles...as did Casey Clausen.
Cam Newton is the best candidate to hit the ground running, IMHO. Could be quite possible that one of the reasons he MAY...be holding out til the last minute is to keep from spooking Bray a little too early. If we took Cam halfway through the season, Bray would have a few months to mull it over and possibly decide to stay closer to home after all.

I have to wonder...if he indeed has an offer from MSU, and has yet to commit, we may have something going on behind the scenes with Cam...maybe. Just a guess

If we were going to offer Cam, we would have already done it.

Rees didn't commit to Notre Dame because of Charlie Weis so don't expect a departure to affect him.

I dont mind Cam, wish he'd go play for Arizona.. i cannnnot see him playing football at UT.

Nick Stephens will start next year, Bray, and "WarmBody"

Another reason for holding off..if they are, would perhaps be to not only observe him on the field for a full season, but also off the field...see if he can stay out of trouble. Seems thus far, he has...for the most part

I hope he comes to UT but I am not holding my breath anymore...But I secretly got my fingers crossed and hope We get a nice surprise.

What does the article of Scout talk about? Does he mention UT etc? Say what you want about him, but right now, he's our best bet to challenge for a starting job next season. He's played in the SEC, leading Blinn College to the playoffs (10-1) and avenged only loss to Navarro last week. Has 22 TD's/4INT's, 2,486 yds passing, and completed 61% of his passes. I think he's more thancapable on the field, and has more than likely learned from his off the field issues. It's worth the risk. Just one fans opinion.
