'10 GA OLB Michael Taylor

Quote:
This weekend, Taylor decided to make a visit to Gainesville, Florida and check out the University of Florida Gators. The Gators have a desperate need at linebacker moving forward and have hired two linebacker coaches in defensive coordinator George Edwards and outside linebacker coach D.J. Durkin to coach and recruit the position. "Man I'm telling you I love it,” Taylor said Saturday during the trip. “My mom and I gotta talk. She is here that's why it's so big. She loves it and she is my inspiration."

Guys... with this kinda talk you'd better prepare for anything with this kid. The same thing that makes him play bigger than 195lbs (emotion) is the same thing that could keep him from making a logical decision. Emotion left unchecked always overides logic.
Whoever makes him believe they've offered the biggest and prettiest marble may win out in the end. Bottom line is we gotta make him realize that without Superman the
Gators don't have an edge.

Good post! and you are right about alot of that...

But I believe in this staff. They can recruit and they have the last shot at him. I like our chances...

One poster said last week he ran into the Coach O at a waffle house in Nashville and asked him about the rumors of MT decommiting from us and heading to (Notre Dame at the time). Coach O said not to worry about Michael Taylor. If Coach O isn't worried, we shouldn't be either.

Wow we take a chance on the ugly girl in school when no one else wants her, make her pretty enough to become prom queen, and now she's about to leave us b/c she wants to f the star quarterback. wtf

My faith is dwindling here as well

Do you have an incident that happened to you in highschool that you need to talk about? Ha Ha.

This would not sound very credible if I hadn't read the post last week. :)

Later that day, Scout reported that Orgeron and Kiffin never went to Nashville. They stayed in Atlanta that day...

Yea but in all seriousness, what is Coach O supposed to say in that situation. "Oh yea Michael Taylor, he's gone for sure." I'm sure Coach O is a confident guy so I'm sure he always thinks like that. Hopefully it wasn't just coach speak though

Vader, Do you think we hold on to him? How much of a factor is Thompson in his recruitment? He mentioned him when he accepted the MVP trophy. I just get the feeling we land him.... Do you?

yea, I think we do. When he starts thinking about it, the early playing time will be what wins out. He will have to sit for a while behind Bostic, Jenkins, and those other young LBs at UF. We have to make sure he comes for his official this weekend though...

I hope this dosent upset the apple cart but..... I think he (Taylor) played the best game he will ever play last week. He is very undersized and we have already gotten a couple of players imo that are better athletes that will probably end up at LB. Ja. Smith is one and the 6'2 235 lb Copeland may be another, he runs 4.65. This staff recruits athletic ability more than specific position. That is an opinion and with some of the position changes on the 2009 team, it seems logical...

I don't think Copeland will be an LB at his size.

Copeland is going the other direction. DT is where he likely ends up.

understood. My point being that Lb in high school does not always translate to LB in college. Continue to get superior athletes and turn them into LB's. Taylor is not and cannot and will not be a major factor in this class. That is just an opinion.

Bigger fish to fry, if he goes somewhere else then so be it. Its not like loosing a James or Dixon or a possible Chaz Green. That was the point. Sorry if it wasent clear. GBO

Those are sour grapes. This kid is a player, we know it, and we want him. Plain and simple.

We all have opinions and I respect yours. I believe that he is expendable in this class. Sorrry u feel the need to express your opinion that way.

By the way who is we and what do you guys know, is your boyfriend there with you? :neener2:

This kid is a player, he showed that at the UA game, but he doesn't make or break our class. Although it may not seem like it but we have a good number of LBs on the roster and another year with Orgeron, Thompson and CMK will only help the guys and our D. I would love to have him but if we lost him and grabbed another top OL then I'd be OK.

considering out depth at LB it would be a huge loss and that is why the staff is gonna try everything that they can do to keep him. other than Taylor the other LB's left on the board arent looking to lean our way. however you are completely right about the atletes part

He isn't the MOST crucial player we could lose but it's hard to see speculation like this after seeing how well he played in the UA game (even though we knew it would happen).
