'10 GA OLB Michael Taylor

It's to our advantage that he took a trip during the dead period. No contact with coaches is allowed. He probably just toured the campus and the academics. If he is serious about it he would take an official.

so florida has one spot left and they are gonna take michael taylor over all those recruits higher?? what dumbasses

It just goes to show you our coaches ability to evaluate talent vs. other schools'. Taylor is a legit prospect and I have said for a long time that I like him better than Luc. He is a little on the small size, but that is perfect for the Tampa 2.

He is the most important commit we have to hang onto and I believe we will.

This. ^^^^

When he visits this weekend, I expect MK to reiterate that he is a ideal LB in his system (reminding him the names that have been stars in his system), while LK and O look this kid right in the eyes and tell him that while CUM wants to jump on the bandwagon, UT was in his corner before he blew up.

With this coaching staff if they want taylor.(which i think its ovbious they do). he will not leave knoxville this weekend without being 100 percent commited.

Have faith with the coaches, they kno what there doing.

Do not listen to anything Back2Back says. Of all the trolls here, he knows the least and spouts ridiculous rumors the most...

Yeah, I have been off here most of the day and felt like taking a jab at a troll :)

What is your take on this situation?

If we were going to get Hicks, I think something good would have had to happen before our EE deadline.

Odds are much in favor of the Horns at this point.

Might just have to swipe one from the Vols here.

That's not how it works, we steal commits from you guys not vice-versa. There's very little chance of you turning Taylor.

dude they do not need anyone. If they told Taylor that they are full of it. They have there starting LB core set for 2 years. No one that comes in this year is starting at LB for two years minimum. That is why they are having trouble getting LBs. They have not taken many but they have two sophmores or RS freshmen(did Bostic and Jenkins Play?) coming up who Taylor is not going to beat out. They have a few guys who are going to be SRs as well including one who started this year.
Jenkins got injured and redshirted. needed it anyway to develop physically as was he was only 17 because he skipped a grade. Bostic played mostly in garbage time and he's probably going to be our starting middle linebacker.

if you think Florida doesn't need linebackers I suggest you instead form an opinion based on the returning players.

WLB Jelani Jenkins RFR
MLB Jon Bostic SO
MLB Brendan Beal RSO
SLB Brandon Hicks SR
SLB AJ Jones RSR (returning starter)
SLB Lorenzo Edwards SR

Jenkins redshirted last year. Beal's had an ACL tear in the summer of 2008 and a neck injury in the summer of 2009 so he's never played a snap for Florida. Even though Lorenzo Edwards is a senior he has only ever played in special teams and garbage time.

Hicks has starting experience and will likely shift over to WLB and with Beal's injury history Edwards probably will at least see backup time at MLB.

we don't need anyone to come in and start for us but as you can see there's backup minutes open for true freshmen to grab. and after this coming season there'll be even more with Jones and Hicks graduating.

considering he was going to enroll early at Texas, i think delaying his decision to see what happened with Florida's coaching situation is a good thing. no one knows for sure what school he'll choose except Hicks but he really likes Florida, has become close friends with Trey Burton, hired a longtime NFL linebackers coach to coach his position and playing time is more readily available. we're just going to have to wait and see.

serious question. why can't you Gators stay on your on board and talk amongst yourselves?

Seriously.

I was just trying to make it clear that we needed a LB and the fact that we weren't going to get Hicks made it likely we're going to try and steal Taylor from you.

Since Taylor came to Gainesville this weekend, it makes sense.

Should be interesting.....we haven't had much tension in recruiting with UT of late. You guys have swayed UT legacy Chaz Green away from us and this seems to be our last chance to win a head to head with UT.

It seems you own us in recruiting battles.

Supposedly he loved it. Now saying that him and his mom need to talk about his committment to UT. He's supposed to visit UT this weekend i believe.

Florida has had it's share of above average players who left HS as 3 stars. One in particular was quite a thorn in UT's side.

as i saw on another thread recently, most gators come on here to get the latest news on our coach and to get an inside track on which of our recruits are being stolen.

Gives me a warm fuzzy feeling hearing a gator troll admit this^. :)
