'10 GA OLB Michael Taylor

It's smart on his part to explore his options.

I agree. He is just looking around to make sure is wants to be a Vol, which I think he will be in the end.

This staff (esp. Orgeron) pride themselves on finding guys that are little under the radar. Being first with guys like Taylor will work out more often than it fails. We'll be fine regardless.

We need at least 1 LB and probably 2. I thought Kitchens and Hicks would be the targets but maybe Taylor and Hicks are the targets. We only got 2 LB's last year as well so we need 2-3 this year.

You guys have four spots left..... you think you take all your current guys and add four..... or you guys going to grey shirt some, or what?

you know of their 24 commits, how many linebackers they have??
ONE.....a 3 star

maybe....but he should consider the likelyhood that he will be overrecruited there.

It could happen here as well, but I would say there is a greater chance of it at Florida.

dude they do not need anyone. If they told Taylor that they are full of it. They have there starting LB core set for 2 years. No one that comes in this year is starting at LB for two years minimum. That is why they are having trouble getting LBs. They have not taken many but they have two sophmores or RS freshmen(did Bostic and Jenkins Play?) coming up who Taylor is not going to beat out. They have a few guys who are going to be SRs as well including one who started this year.

I'm not discounting the worth of a good LB, however a good DL will make an average LB great and we are quite alright in the DL area.

I think this is meyer firing shots across the bow at kiffin. Hope MT doesn't fall for it.

I think it's a little of that and I also think after the UA game people are realizing this guy is legit (which guys like LV have been saying since we lost Luc). I still think ND, UF and others that are coming after him are fighting a huge battle. He has to have a strong relationship with Lane, coach O and Monte by this time. I think he knows where his heart is in the end.

Well if he goes elsewhere I think we get christan Jones. I thougt that's who they were going after anyway.

Well, I wouldn't say 2 years, more like 1 year. We're losing 3 starters(Spikes, Stamper, Doe) this year, and we're losing at least 2 more starters and a back up(Hicks, Jones, and Edwards) next year. Bostic has a spot for him locked down, but Jenkins still needs to prove himself. He can either beat Jenkins or take the other vacant spot.

i dont wanna sound stupid ...and before the florida trolls say weve heard that before u think the coaches advised him to look around because they feel good about christian jones... is that a stretch??? dont get me wrong i would love to have him and hope he sticks

The main thing is here he plays early. Starts as a sophmore almost as a guarantee. He might start as a freshmen if we have an injury or two like we did this year. At UF he will not play his first couple years in all likely hood. He might be a RS as a freshmen there.

Guaranteed? Nope.

The staff has said that they wanted to take 3 LB's this class. I doubt Taylor decommits he was probably just looking around and it's not a far drive for him. Also we are still in it for Hicks so he maybe if we keep the momentum up we will land him instead.

I would be more than happy with that scenario...uf gets hicks and we keep taylor. taylor is a baller

If we were going to get Hicks, I think something good would have had to happen before our EE deadline.

Odds are much in favor of the Horns at this point.

Might just have to swipe one from the Vols here.
