'10 FL OT Chaz Green

Negative. Us getting Chaz makes it a wash. Otherwise, they get Chaz and us nothing. Not a good trade.

i am a HUGE chaz green fan, but chaz vs seantrel is not a "wash" imo. seantrel is superior, a very very special player

best case, seantrel goes to ohio state, and we get chaz. i would like that very much

He's a great tackle, as is Chaz. Both are difference makers. It isn't a wash, but it's close. Each of us getting one is great for us. Them getting one and us none is an awful outcome, but is extremely likely.

you're right, us getting nothing would be bad. it would just be so painful to watch florida land another top 10, 5 star player

Florida now has 26 commits after that qb committed this weekend. How many can they take? S. Henderson has been thought to be a UF lean. How many more can they back count since they have already reached their 25 limit?
It looks like the Gators can take 30 if they so choose.

The SEC limit says a school can only sign 28 players between NSD and May 31st. Florida took no JUCOs this past december. On NSD Florida's 11 early enrolling high school graduates will sign along with the remaining members of the class with two possible exceptions whose waiting to sign would be used to push the class above the SEC signee limit threshold.

Post graduate ATH Travon Van has qualified, will enroll in the summer and may hold off on signing until after the window has passed. High school TE Michael McFarland, who played QB in high school, has chosen to become the first grayshirt in Meyer's tenure at UF in order to bulk up to meet the physical demands of blocking tight end and could also wait to sign until after the window has passed.

Ugh, more proof that Mike Slive and the SEC are a bunch of morons. That rule should have never been implemented, and just begs teams to look for ways around it.

well the point was to curb schools like Ole Miss and to a lesser extent Alabama signing a bunch of high schoolers who won't qualify. Both of the players Florida might flex have already qualified.

I could see the concern about using grayshirts to get around the rule but I don't really see the big deal about post graduate Travon Van because JUCOs who sign in December or after the window closes also would not count against the SEC limit. So with the presence of Matt Simms, Tennessee can already sign 29 players in this class.

Especially with them getting Powell and Easely we need someone to block them while they are at Florida. Let them have Henderson if it gives us Green IMO.

Ok, I'm not positive if it looked liked this the last time I checked Chaz Green out on Rivals, but this shows he has high interest in UT and medium on Florida. Seems like last time I looked at him (been a few months) he had most of the top schools at "medium" interest and no schools as "high" interest???

Is this something new or has it been like that?

It has been my understanding that Simms counts as part of our 28. Then again, I don't know if I've seen a number that we know is set in stone for UT. Either way, nothing personal towards UF meant by my post. I'm just irritated that schools like UT who are short on scholarship players due to coaching changes cannot sign enough players to fill out the roster. I'm pretty sure it'll take two-three more years of signing 28 players for UT to get back to 85 scholarship players.

I think you're right. I wonder when that changed

i don't know where you heard Simms counts against the 28 but the wording of the SEC's limit says member schools can only sign a maximum of 28 players between NSD and May 31. As Simms is a JUCO transfer he should have already signed his LOI so he wouldn't fall into that window.
