Truthfully, this is the one site I have found that keeps up to date the most with recruiting. For whatever reason, I can't find any Florida sites that keep up too closely with it.

There are a few Gator fans here who know what they are talking about and you are not one of them (rsg87 is a good one). Like I said you will continue to recruit FL well (Dunkley is from FL), but you will continue to see players lose interest in that pee wee offense...

I don't expect you to agree that UFs offense is a joke so this argument would go on forever. Let's just drop it...

I was talking about offense. Nobody is questioning Charlie Strong and his defense/recruiting. He's as good as it gets...

Tebow won't be a QB. Proof that the spread doesn't prepare you for the NFL.

Louis Murphy could be a decent WR but didn't blow people away at UF.

Riley Cooper will play baseball.

Pounceys will be late round draft picks. Nothing special.

The main thing people should look at is Percy Harvins learning curve for being a receiver in the NFL. He's a great playmaker in special teams, but doesn't have a clue how to be an NFL receiver.

I agree with this. He relies on his athleticism, which is certainly special, to make plays in the receiving game in the NFL. And to be honest, it's not that many plays. The question is how do they want to utilize him? They like having him run out of the backfield, too. Maybe he isn't that coachable as a WR? Who knows? I won't put much stock into what Brad Childress does as a coach, though. Watched enough Vikings games over the past couple of years to know he is pretty lost as a head coach.

I mean think about it..... when he was the OC in Philadelphia it's not like his play calling blew people away. They relied on the athleticism of Westbrook and McNabb to make plays when he was there, too. And any coach can look at least competent when you have Adrian Peterson playing for you.

EDIT: You do know this about someone relying on athleticism like Harvin, though..... NFL defenses will figure out ways to neutralize him for the most part. To the original point of the discussion, it's not like Florida players have been just blowing away the NFL in general...

He made plays by buying time inside the pocket a ton... not necessarily scrambling for big gains all the time - and he had to run a little bit to run Florida's offense (and yes I know it was more of a pro-style UM's first year - but he still threw a lot of his stuff in there and Leak was able to execute some of it).

If you take away the sack yardage - how much did he run for?

He's certainly a lot more mobile than any QB we have on our roster.

So when is it going to start? Urban has been at UF for 5 years now and he continues to get elite offensive talent. At what point will we begin to see recruits go somewhere else?

You and I both know that we will continue to get amazing talent. We are Florida and that's just the way it is.

We are Florida and that's just the way it is. What kind of arrogant tripe is that?
Florida recruits well because the state has enormous talent and Florida is the dream school for the majority of the old-timers in that state (which impacts HS coaches, parents, etc.) A blind monkey could recruit well for UF. UF was getting good players when they weren't good. That doesn't mean UF is the promised land of CFB. it means that there is enough talent in the state and enough northern players who want to come to sunny Florida that the pickings are pretty easy.

The only we are Florida and that's just the way it is that I know of goes something like this...

We are the most obnoxious, arrogant, rude, band-wagon riding, poorly dressed, biased and ignorant fan base in the country and that's just the way it is.

Florida has no first day draft picks at the skill positions you chump. Tebow may be a FB, but that is it. No wideouts or backs. Moody could not hack it at NFL U, and Demps or Rainey would get their sternums cracked in the league. Your wideouts are embarassing the likes of Quezzy, Jack Jackson, R. Anthony, Ike Hilliard and so on. Now that we have Kiffin (and this is coming from one of the biggest Fulmerite's there are) Florida may never be better than us at any spot on the field! We are not frightened in the least. Brantley better be really good, that's all I'm going to say.
