'10 FL OT Chaz Green

I think we will see a lot of recruiting battles between CUM and CLK in the future. This battle is going to be close.

I am sp excited about this class and just hope we can somehow finish 8-4. That would set us up for a peach bowl visit and gives us a shot at major momentum into the offseason and NSD.

8-4 could potentially get them into the Outback or Cotton.

Heard some knew stuff on Green today. UT still appears to have a slight edge over UF however Meyer has personally taken over Green's recruiting and is talking to him quite a bit now. I see this fight going down to the end. It really feels like these 2 schools are going to be fighting over recruits for years to come.

Ive got my money on CLK.

Oh, crap. The big dog comes off the porch. Nobody on that staff can talk it (read: lie through his teeth) like UM.

Green is all but a Vol. Kiffin did a GREAT job on his visit in selling him as a starter from day 1 and he really did a number on Florida's offense...calling it names like childish and pathetic. Green is concerned that the spread won't develop him for the NFL. We will see if Meyer can bring him back to where he was before the UT visit but it looks unlikely at this point.

It also doesn't look like UT has any real chance with Christian Green.

Green is definitely not going to end up at Tennessee. Now he's saying UGA is his leader. I dont know how Richt gets some of these guys. They are by far the most underachieving program in the South.

I think Florida's chances of getting Christian are certainly hurting after Chaz decided he was going to UT.

With all due respect Hardy, I could say the same thing about UT.

I think most UT fans will agree hence the coaching change. I definitely think UT is heading in the right direction now though.

dude, if we had the talent georgia has we would win the national freaking title. Georgia is such a piece it makes me sick how they waste all that talent

It's going to be hard to judge until 2011. I will give UT a pass for this year and even next year. I think 2011 will be the big year for you guys. We won't know much until then.

Of course that is why Phil was let go and you guys hated seeing it happen saying what a great coach he was and all that after he was canned.

It's going to take a while to get things going no doubt and I don't think that most UT fans are expecting anything great this year but they would like to see some improvement. Next year may be more of the same but I think 2011 should be a great year for UT if the QB play it rocking. Look at how we played the last two games with great QB play. Anyone who watched the UT/AL game knows that UT played well against the #1 D in the nation and also moved the ball well against FL as well.

Eh, I didn't care either way about Fulmer. There is no coach in the SEC that I dislike. They have all been owned by Urban. :)

Don't you mean by Tebow. Urbans glow will fade when he doesn't have Timmy to bail him out when they are struggling. Gators will always be good because of the talent advantage they have around them in recruiting but they will no longer be dominant in the SEC and those wins will be much harder to come by IMO.

I think Kiffin was spot on in his assessment to Green. Childish and pathetic sounds about right to me...

In 2007 I was at the UT-UF game and afterwards I was talking with some Vols that we invited to our tailgate party. There were about 15 UT fans in general and every one of them that I talked to (maybe 6 or 7?) all said the same thing....."I wish, one day, UT had an offense that creative".

I am THRILLED with the offense we run and that's why I think we will continue to be the best program in the SEC. Urban's imagination and scheme will score points even when we don't have the best talent in the world on offense. I do not want to see us slogging around like Georgia, Tennessee, or Alabama. But to each his own I guess. The Kiffin-Meyer rivalry is starting to remind me of the Fulmer-Spurrier rivalry...where one coach likes to ground it while the other is creative and innovative.

Gotta disagree with you. JCs play dictated how we played against UF, but if you look at UF's play this year they have increasingly looked like a "slog it out" team. Zero creativity. Dive left, sack, qb draw left. That was the scripted series I have seen time and time again.

Little by little, it will (and is) hurting UF with recruits. These guys wanna get to the league and be successful. You don't do that at UF...

I agree. You can still get there, look at Harvin and Lewis just from last year. But it is not a pipeline like UT is going to be.

I think we'll have to wait 'til next year to see if Urban can be creative again since defenses have caught on his scheme. Having a QB who can run a little bit, but throw much better may be a godsend, in reality. Plus, I cant imagine UF having WORSE weapons next year compared to this.

I'll take an offense like USC any day over Meyers offense. Without Tebow Meyer will find winning in the SEC much harder to come by. UT will be like UF is now in about 2 years.
