'10 FL OT Chaz Green

Where did I ever say than an OT in a spread offense can't be drafted highly? It happens. All I said was NFL Scouts prefer offensive lineman who play in a pro-style offense in college compared to a spread.

Talent is talent though and that was my point. Pass-Blocking is much more important for a franchise LT than Run-Blocking and you develop more as a Pass-Blocker in a spread offense.

And Jason Smith is still having a very hard time adjusting. Even in pass blocking he was getting abused by only decent DEs. Using him as an example is not helping your case at all.

robert gallery is not a complete bust. He is a very good guard for the raiders. He is flat nasty when it comes to run blocking, he is much more suited at guard

And Robert Gallery has been a complete bust as well. It happens from all systems.
Awesome. Busts happen. You are the one that used Jason Smith as an example. Him being a bust only hurts OL coming from spread offenses. There are an infinite number of OL that have successfully came from traditional offenses. The same cannot be said for spread teams.

Getting drafted by oakland could cause the best players to bust. It's a death sentence.

Their offense is similar to Georgia Tech's offense. There is a lot of misdirection going on. Tech is a LOT more solid in the run game than Florida is though.

Both offenses need a TANK at quarterback (Josh Nesbitt is the equivalent of Tim Tebow when it comes to importance to the team). When those guys are gone, I bet the offense will struggle.

I'd say Florida's offense is a lot more "gimmicky" and uses more trickery than Tech's. With Georgia Tech, you know they are going to run the ball pretty much every play. With Florida, they can let Tebow run up the middle (which they call "pounding" their running game) or he can hand it off to their little speed backs....or he can do his fake run and then pass the ball.

Florida will NOT have a running game when Tebow is gone.

GT's offense is not gimmicky. In fact, that offense is a true pound the rock offense. 3 yards on first. 4 on second, 3 on third and start all over again. Great offense. We're gonna run the ball and there's nothing you can do about it. There is no other offense in the country with that kind of success basically guaranteed. The wishbone is an offense for teams to hide inefficiencies bc of its effectiveness. Well, what if the team doesn't have inefficiencies? The O becomes that much better.

Tennessee Vols Recruiting - TC's Chaz Green: UF, Tenn., USC are all equal

"When I went there over the spring there were a lot of questions," Green said off the Vols under first-year head coach Lane Kiffin. "But when I went there this time, you see everything they've done in such a short time. All they need is a couple of guys up front because you know they're going to have good running backs and they're always going to have a great defense under Monte Kiffin. I was really impressed with everything they've done in that litle bit of time."

Its amazing we are in this one. I had him marked to UF months ago. Him and JJ would be a nice package.

I am sp excited about this class and just hope we can somehow finish 8-4. That would set us up for a peach bowl visit and gives us a shot at major momentum into the offseason and NSD.

Heard some knew stuff on Green today. UT still appears to have a slight edge over UF however Meyer has personally taken over Green's recruiting and is talking to him quite a bit now. I see this fight going down to the end. It really feels like these 2 schools are going to be fighting over recruits for years to come.
