Yeah. But that could also work into our favor as that leaves uncertainty in his mind. I have said we are in this more then people think for a long time and i still stand behind it. I am thrilled that he is probably coming to the AU game next weekend. That should really throw him for a loop. Neyland at night is true spectical.

I think negative recruiting is bad for the game -- and Kiffin says it's something they don't practice. However, I'm not sure I wouldn't break that rule to land a player like Luc. I guess what I'm saying is, it should be brought to Luc's attention that the FSU staff is getting a makeover at the end of the year and Charlie Strong, while nothing is set in stone, likely won't be his coordinator next year at UF.

Yea that does make since. The high potential for Strong to leave can create considerable tension even if it doesn't come to fruition.

He wouldn't even have to say specifically that Strong will probably go, just continue to highlight that this staff is new so will be together for a long time...so your hinting that Strong will leave but not actually negative recruiting

Luc strikes me as a smart kid who's being very deliberate and thorough with regards to his recruitment. He has so far resisted the urge to jump the gun and commit prematurely. I doubt anyone would have to fill him in on the Andrews/Strong scenarios that might unfold.

if he is visiting for the auburn game then why ain't rvials or souts talking about it. rivals says that he does not have any scheduled?

Do you think that maybe he is not scheduling any officials to remain under the radar? If he has to only pick 5, then we assume those are his top 5, and he's said he is open to more than 5 schools. If so, then I commend him for being smart. But dumb for not taking the free trip.

is he going to take an official here? When?!

So, can the Vols get into this race? We saw Tennessee come out of nowhere to land Bryce Brown, Nu'Keese Richardson and Janzen Jackson last season. Certainly, they could do it again. But right now it doesn't look that way. Things could change, though.

Because Rivals and Scout can't get ahold of him. Hubbs has been try to get in contact with him for a while, but he doesn't answer the phone...

That doesn't hold true in Luc's case. He said a couple of months ago that he is NOT taking his officials at any of the in-state schools. He is using his officials to look at the out of state schools...

But I do think you are correct about Luc trying to keep everything under the radar. Nobody ever knows what he is doing. A prime example is how he showed up in Knoxville in June for UTs camp out of the blue. Nobody had heard anything about him coming, and he supposedly had no interest in UT...

There are no recruiting analysts out there who know what Jeff Luc is thinking. Not Newberg, not Farrell, not anybody. If they say they do, they are lying...

Luc is the most exciting recruit I have ever seen. If he did not surprise everyone and come here I might have a stroke(and im young). If he spurned us for florida, well then id prob have a heart attack.

I just feel that a player like Jeff Luc has the "potential" to make people forget about Eric Berry. Maybe not "forget" per se, but definitely ease the sting of an early departure to the NFL like everyone expects.

I doubt he's going to play anything close to a berry level role for a few years and most likely never. not to say he won't be good.

rico will go in he first day of the draft

Rico will be a late second but most likely 3rd round pick. He would have to go nuts at the combine and interview like Mayo to get near the first round.

Rico plays too out of control and mis reads plays a ton. Watch him and you will see. Most of that has to be him being switched so much and never getting comfortable. He is not very good in coverage either.

This will be a loaded draft class on top of that and you will see guys going in the teens who could have been top 5 picks last year.

Luc plays a different position, it's not going to be the same role at all. But to say that the potential isn't there, I don't think we can do that. This kid is extremely talented and in a scheme designed by Monte, there's definitely the ability to be nearly as disruptive to an opponent's offense as Berry is, just at a different position.

i know what position he plays, captain obvious. that's why i said that "level of a role"-as in playing to a level that the defense is designed around him

Well, we'll have to agree to disagree. The way this kid moves laterally and with aggression and purpose in any direction is definitely impressive. I think he would cause a lot of Vol fans to cuss at their televisions if he signed with Florida. They are so deep he may not get on the field immediately there, but eventually. If he came to UT he'd play immediately, and although he may not make as much of an impact in his freshman year as Berry did, I think over a 3-4 year span he's got the same level of ability at his position.

luc already looks like an nfl backer. he is ridiculous. with montes help, this guy probably could become berry level or better. who knows. remember he has not been playing football as much as people like berry had. this kid took up hitting people on the field b/c it seemed better than beating them up at school or in a parking lot.
