Booting Morley certainly hurt from an athletic talent standpoint. No reason that Morley and Vinson should not both have gone to the NFL as high picks physically, it is more about what is between their ears.

I agree with this completely.

Morley would make some nice plays, and then mentally check out on the field (and off) and just look like he completely forgot to pay the bill. Vinson to me just seems like football is not even near the top of the list in his priorities.

So let's not kid ourselves on the pass defense statistics just yet.

WKU was WKU

UCLA had a young quarterback who made less mistakes than Crompton, but they didn't exactly open it up.

Florida doesn't trust their current batch of receivers and put the ball in Tebow's hands.

Ohio couldn't get the run going, so they passed a lot and found some success there. A team who would actually be able to play action and fool us some may discover we're not as impressive in the secondary as most of us thought.

Say all you want about the "rankings" but we played Florida who has no passing game. WKU = lol. UCLA was a good stand but Ohio lit them up. 319 yards to OHIO is not a good pass defense, period.

So your "rankings" are clouded to say the least. Vinson couldnt cover his own shadow right now and Evans looks lost all over the field. Rogan being back will help but right now we are horrible at CB and to think anything else is homervision.

+1

They need to add a category to his stats, KO's. nobody seems to get right back up after he's done with them.

how about LUc = nexT al wilson

OR
Luc + Lemonier= Lock and Load

Paint it for Riley when he comes back with his mom

i don't want to read all 108 pages, but i have one question: If we got Jeff Luc, how big of a get could this be? We talkin Bryce Brown big? Because we need help at MLB.

He is someone that can contribute Instantly... Like Bryce Brown.

I gotta disagree with this. I don't think Luc is a guy that will have an immediate impact. Middle linebacker is a tough position to learn in Monte's system and I'm not even sure Luc's skill set fits MLB in a Tampa 2.

I honestly think he may grow into a DE. I just don't see enough from his film to show that he could be more than a blitzer off the edge as a LB. His film reminds me too much of Chris Donald. He looks kind of stiff in the hips and he just bowls people over. He isn't fluid. He's not a form tackler. He's not fast-twitch. He seems to get by because he completely dominates the opposition from an athletic standpoint. That won't cut it when everyone is as athletic as you are. But what do I know?

There are LBs I like much better than Luc. Jordan Hicks, Josh Shirley. We don't have much of a shot at either, but just for comparisons sake...Also Bruce Irvin. I like him better than Luc.

You know how sometimes coaches go after high-profile players just because they are high-profile and can have an impact on the program from a perception point-of-view? (it's talked about in Meat Market) I think this may be one of those cases.

I can't see Luc growing much more. He isn't that tall. His frame just doesn't look like he has much room at all too grow. He's already 240...
