'10 FL CB Cody Riggs

Still, the Rivals100 player and No. 5 cornerback in the nation for next year's signing class is treating his return trip to Tennessee as if it's his first time there.

"Tennessee, they definitely have a chance, but I have to see it," Riggs said. "I haven't seen it (recently), so I can't say if they're at the bottom (of my list) or the top or whatever. I have to see it first."

"I just want to get a good vibe from the coaches and see if I can really play there. I've heard a lot of good things, but I haven't seen it myself," said Riggs, who will see UT play again next weekend on his visit to Florida.

"I'm just looking for a place where I can fit in."

"I saw that they had a lot of kids I've seen or heard about that were on the field," Riggs said. "A lot of times, you see kids that are highly rated and you don't hear from them until their junior year. But at Tennessee, a lot of guys played."

You mean he is willing to reconsider now that it is not Fulmer ball?

Oh sweet little baby...

This staff will end up with a class as good as or better than my dream class.

I still say we have a chance with Powell :)

Willis would make me not miss George Uko so much.

VQ just spoke to Riggs and the Vols have GREATLY helped their chances this weekend. Riggs was planning on committing after his last visit in October. He has now delayed his commitment until December. He said the main reason he delayed it was because his mom didn't come with him on the trip this weekend. He has delayed it because December 1st is the first day that coaches can make in home visits. He wants his mom to meet Kiffin before he makes his decision...

"It was a great trip, just a great trip," Riggs said of the Knoxville experience. "I liked it a lot. I really enjoyed meeting with coach Kiffin and talking with both him and coach (Eddie) Gran. We had a really good talk about how I could fit in with what they do and everything. It was all real positive. I could see myself playing there."

Very, very good news here...

Right on..

"They are seriously in the mix now for sure, the visit helped Tennessee a lot," Riggs said of how things stand now. "I really just knew more about schools like Florida and Georgia because I had seen them up close. Now that I've been there (to Tennessee) and have gotten to know the coaches a lot better. I'm definitely looking hard at them now."

"My mom wasn't with me this weekend, and I really want her to meet coach Kiffin and get a chance to sit down with him and the coaches," Riggs said. "They can't make home visits until Dec. 1, so now I'm going to wait until after then to decide until after they get a chance to come down and come to the house."

Per VQ...

That is really good news. It seems like the recruits are understanding that it takes time to rebuild a team with new coaches. I hope he selects the VOLS. Bring on more STA players. Ranked #1 high school time. Do they have good players or what! Come on VOLS be more positive.

I don't have access to the full story, but the headline from the gatorbait site says Florida still leads for his services. Thoughts?

I don't see a new story on Riggs on GatorBait. The one I think you are referring to was written 12 days ago on September 1st...
