Rettig had only one offer. How would that have intimidated Scroggins into signing somewhere else? I think that Rettig was flying under the radar, but the coaches may think differently. I do think that it was funny how we knee jerked when we found out that he was thinking about committing to BC. Someone must have seen something in him.

I do think that Scoggins would be a Vol if it were up to him but that does not look to be the case. He might be betrayed in good ole Dad saying you can go anywhere you want as long as it is 20 minutes down the road. That might be a good thing if ole Dad ends up like Juicy Locke. Only time will tell.

I think he means to see if any upcoming seniors come out of nowhere and become studs.

IMO I think it very, very unlikely to have a QB come out of nowhere their SR year of HS to go to a top-flight D-1 program. So, unless we secure Scroggins I believe it's a JuCo QB or wait until 2011 (probably the latter).

It adds up.
A bunch of "Recruiting Guru's" overreacting to every little thing, and some that don't have a clue thinking they know what's happening, a whole lot of opinions, some facts= High drama here.
It just depends on how you view it. Makes sense to me.

Bravo.

Gainesvol, you are correct and I shouldn't fault and bash a 17 year old for being made a big deal of. I should've been better than that so thanks for calling me out. I'm just tired of this back-n-forth circus with this kid when he isn't even touted the next big thing...

Anyway, I do wish him the best of luck wherever he goes but like I've said, I hope he proves me very wrong and comes to The Hill.

Until Wednesday... :zeitung_lesen:

:hi: Classy post. I agree with your frustration and I also don't like when guys act like divas. I was not a fan of the Bryce Brown or Terelle Pryor situation's at all.

I hope he proves us wrong too but I can easily see him going to USC because it is the popular choice.

If he really wants the fast track to the NFL then he needs to come to UT.

It makes no sense to say a guy will amount to nothing at USC but be a future NFLer here. Especially when they have, what, double the number of NFL QBs as us.

Hey, I'll be man enough to admit if I'm wrong (which I hope I am) but I don't believe CLK has conjured up anything special beyond harda$$ recruiting efforts...

Good day to ya. :hi:

well ya know everyone has a opinion and you wanted to be smart about my comment and argue about it. i might be wrong to but im pretty sure im not haha. well see man so good day to you to. cya on here wedneaday

maybe his betrayed status reflect his feelings toward SC and his dad. Maybe thats why he wants his dad to be there so he can watch his dad's mouth fall open in shock when he says I"m going to be a VOL

am I grasping

I don't necessarily think he'll be a future NFLer here OR at USC. He may be a great collegiate QB and it appears that he'll have a better chance to become an NFLer @ UT as compared to USC due to their QB depth.

I believe the # 1 reason most want Scroggins to come to UT because it will jumpstart other offensive recruits to possibly commit here (i.e., Ambles, Cobbs, Milton, Prater [???], etc.). It has been stated in numerous posts/threads by numerous people that we will more than likely recruit OVER Scroggins in 2011. If he commits to UT and ends up being great then that is icing on the cake.

Get over it. He's a Trojan. His father wants it that way and will be at the announcement. I suspect his dad has convinced him he can beat out Barkley. After all Jesse is 16 or 17 years old and his dad has helped him develop. I believe I read in KNS last week that he said some bad things about our coaching staff concerning trouble with recruiting violations. I don't think he can come here after those remarks. His dad probably planted that bug and ignored that USC has a lot more problems with those issues than UT. But, if that is what Jesse said and believes, we are out of the running. Hope I am wrong, but I am not going to lose any sleep or work over the announcement.

maybe he's feeling betrayed if he has a girlfriend that told him it's over between them if he comes to UT.

ok,.. now I'm grasping at straws.

Are you serious? All he said was that he was concerned about the secondary violations. How is that in any way that bad?

Dude, you are one lemon-sucking fellow, I tell ya. You just ain't happy unless you found something to b!tch about. :realmad:

I was raised not to argue with fools so I'll just say that your post is evidence that you obviously have no idea who you're talking to or my post history here. I apologize if I was raining on your thread padding parade buddy but it would take a heckuva lot less time to post the time of the announcement a few times than to check in various threads for Scroggins news. I'm sure you don't have anything better to do and you got to start a thread like a big boy so Congrats!

He is a Vol. Why would he announce it on ESPN if he was going to be a Trojan. He would just be another name in the pile of stars. The fact he can announce to Tennessee on ESPN is alot bigger statement nationally.

Don't forget UF.. They are still in it too
