Looks like there's no new news from late last night. Could someone tell me where we are in the recruiting "season" in terms of how much contact we can have with recruits? Are we in a dead period where we can't visit or call?

don't think we called and asked him to come down but I could be wrong. My impression was they (he and Dad) decided to drive down. Why we didn't meet with him is speculation...

A coach called to talk to Grayson's high school coach, I am just guessing but probably to show interest and scout him. Our coach learned he was in area at the Louisville camp and said hey why don't you stop by Knoxville. The high school coach told Grayson's mom they should stop by after the camp and see Knoxville (while he was already in Atlanta). It was not planned at all. It was a spontaneous invite once the coach realized Grayson was in the area. I do not know which coach was talking to his high school coach. I can guess Reaves or Chaney but that is all it would be a guess.

We had about 24 hours notice that they would be in town at all. There was no camp going on or other activity. Kiffin is in the middle of fighting hard for Scroggins and doesn't really know how hard he is going to push for another QB until the Scroggins thing is wrapped up.

Grayson, who was scheduled to camp at Louisville last week, got a late phone call from his mother while sitting at the Atlanta Georgia airport.

&#8220;She told me that my high school coach had called and that the Tennessee coaches wanted me to come by and see Knoxville while I was out East. We discussed it and made the trip the next day.&#8221;

hes going to tennessee or he would of announced with bailey yesterday. hes already made up his mind and its tennessee thats why hes waiting to announce it on espn for kiffin. he finished the 7 on 7 yesterday and his only time to really think about anythign else is this weekend and thats not enough time to really think bout much. than he will be at that elite 11 camp on monday all week to saturday and than announcing . so there is nothing really more to think about for him, his mind is made up hes just wanted to wait to announce on espn so it will help his recruiting for kiffin. HES ALL VOL!!!!

50/50. He didn't announce because he was always going to announce on the 25th. Not announcing with Bailey means nothing.

sounds like you guys are puttin all your eggs in one basket with scroggins, I mean who else is on the radar if scroggins doesn't commit to UT, because it seems like it would be somewhat difficult to lure a guy from california who has got offers from just about everybody? Who are UT's other options that could realisticaly commit to UT?

i would say burnetti, rees, grayson, rettig, mason, strauss

TN would have a shot at these guys if they pursued hard enough

and yes rettig....we still have time to turn him

Funny, our coaches have been selling the advantages of playing against the best teams in football, but I don't think they've mentioned South Carolina.

Maybe that's what they've been missing?

yeah cuz of kiffin. hes been a ut lean this whole time thats why he wanted to do it on the 25th in the first place. just most people act stupid about it on here and freaks everybody out
