So heres the question;
Who would you rather have? The QB that is more highly sought after who might decommit on you later or the less highly touted QB who is more likely to stay committed to you.
My fear is that Scroggins commits to UT, Rettig goes elsewhere and JS decommits in Nov/Dec leaving us in the lerch. (i.e. Chris Simms)
What's the news? Or has it already been mentioned on here?
Interesting, care to enlighten us with this info?
Scroggins wont decommit. If he chooses us over his lifetime favorite school who happens to be one of the major powers of college football then I doubt he goes elsewhere. Plus, qbs don't hardly ever decommit anyways. and if your thinking he recommits to USC then why wouldn't he just commit there in the first place. What would he see in the fall that would leave him to believe he made the wrong choice. He lives near their campus and grew up going to their games. Its not like he hasn't taken a visit there. And if he comes here (big word being if) then CLK will continue to talk with him and bring him to the stadium at least one more time. So I really don't think thats logical to think the recommits.

If he commits to UT, its going to take a LOT of work to hold his commitment IMO.
And in reply to your question about what he could see in the fall that would make him question his decision..it could be lots of things. If UT struggles offensively, gets pounded by its rivals, media continues to bash the program/Kiffin etc that could be enough to make him question his decision. And lets just say that USC (or UF although I dont think they are really a factor at this point) go on to have great season. (BCS bowl, Conferance Champs, NATIONAL CHAMPS what have you) These kids are fickle. Im just saying...committing to UT, then having to endure a great season from the nearby school, all the fans/friends in your ear....it will be a test for sure.
We lost a 4 star qb from Cali last year to Stanford, because of a**hole fans booing our team. So while I like your logic, don't say it can't happen. I saw things and heard things at the games that made me ashamed at times.
No it was because fat arse Fulmer getting out coached again. Our team deserved to be booed last year. Any year in which we dont make a bowl or dont show up for our biggest rivals is horrible. If the kid didn't like the booing then he doesn't need to be here, we dont need thin skinned QB's.
Trovon Reed? I thought he was an Auburn lock? Isn't he related to Seastrunk?
I realize we were bad last year but if you don't see improvement at all why should this qb thing concern you. Even if we brought in a great qb and our staff didn't put them in a system that even somewhat worked (Clausens system didn't work at all) you think they would be great, even them being good is a stretch.
Nunes leaving wasn't because of fans booing. He left to stay closer to home. Well maybe that and the fact Clausen couldn't coach in the SEC for anyone.

regardless of what you think about the season. he lost a significant amount of interest because of drunk, uneducated fans feeling the need to voice their opinion at every opportunity available. now let it go

Well when you have two losing seasons out of the last four years you tend to become a drunk. Following UT the last couple of years has almost caused me to have a heart attack and all Fulmer would say is we will have to look at the tape and work like heck to get better. What a joke he was for a coach. I've said my peace, man that feels better.
