Scroggins has already said that he's going to announce his decision at the Elite 11 Quarterback camp in late July. Why ANYONE would expect to hear his announcement anytime before then is baffling to me.

i agree with you, but i think the general concensus is that there is worry that the longer he waits the worse off we are. i have mixed feelings on that. i think it makes more sense for him to wait in our favor.

Why are people getting annoyed with Scroggins not committing yet..and its July.

Because this is the time of year (Spring/EARLY summer) that QB commit as a rule of thumb. They do this so that the coaches can 1) use them as a recruiting tool 2) focus on other needs and 3) decide what other types of players they need in the system that QB will be playing in.

JS is holding all those things up.

Well said ShanMan. QB's are always early commits because they have to be. Many are starting to graduate in the fall and enroll at their respective universities in the spring to practice with the team before summer. Gets them in the competition for fall.

You have to imagine the pressure that is on him though. Choosing between Tennessee and Southern Cal...oh by the way, the defending National champs offered as well...I think I would be delaying things as well just to make sure I got it right. People need to chill on this whole thing about JS holding things up. 2 weeks isn't going to make a huge impact on other recruiting, and if it all works out, we get a very good QB to work with.

I'm 18, although I don't play football, I couldn't imagine trying to make that decision. I have been out to Cali 3 times and it's a dream out there imo. Laid back. Typical Cali lifestyle. I have lived in Knoxville my whole life though and I'm used to the environment around here, It's intense coming into Knoxville from Cali I'd say. This is the south we're all about Football down here.

The way that interview sounded, I'd be surprised if he didn't come to Tennessee. But than again that interviewer seemed pretty biased towards us, which is weird considering it was done in Cali.

I found that kind of strange myself. Almost half the length of the interview was about UT, and he hardly talked about USC at all.

Yeah the interviewer mentioned UT most of the time, while the interview was done in Cali. Thats honestly kinda strange

Yes i am aware of that but he's still going to commit in July, IF he signs with us we still have over 6 months until NSD in which to use Scroggins as a recruiting tool. What i was saying was that people are acting as if its the last week in January so we have no time to show him of as one of the studs in this class.

i've got underwear that old!:eek:lol:

Take note from the interview he said directly he does not like people on his myspace and does not like negative talk about other schools, just an fyi for some of you guys.:nono::nono:

USC is gonna be hard to beat for Jesse.....but I dont think we are as out of it as everyone on here seems to think.

Positive visual thoughts

Tennessee lines up with 2 wide outs and 2 tight ends, Brown in the backfeild and Scroggins under center.

Scroggins drops back, Florida brings a blitz, Scroggins throws down field to A WIDE OPEN GERALD JONES, CAUGHT BY JONES, AND NOBODY'S GONNA CATCH HIM! TOUCHDOWN TENNESSEE!

Gerald Jones recognized the cover 2 by the Gators, and split the safties to get open, and what a throw by the true Freshman, Jesse Scroggins. Right, on, the money.

Gerald Jones will most likely be gone by the time Scroggins would become the starter.
