im tired of people on this site giving up on jesse just because he is taking his time. yes i want to know as well where he is gonna go and i still beleive he will be a vol. this guy is the real deal! he is accurate, he has the size, and if he gets in trouble he definatly has the athleticism to get out of it. anybody who says forget scroggins is crazy. sure rettig may be a good and cam newton i dont know much about but i dont believe that could ever compare to scroggins. so quit with the givin up on him and sayin you would rather have the others. it makes me sick

summary urban is trash talking our staff and is only out to keep him from TN and could care less about him.....the boosting recruiting comment only makes sense for TN because him committing to USC or FLA won't change a thing in their classes but will start a domino effect with ours with potential of Ambles, Cobbs, Prater, Milton, Seastrunk, and a couple olineman.

If that happens WOW

yea but i read a couple of pages ago that he would rather have rettig and newton than scroggins... thanks but no thanks jesse is what i believe it said . thats crazy. and reality? no one thought we had a chance with bb but we got him. crazy! but i think jesse understands how much he is needed and will be a vol. and who would want to go to a school that didnt offer till he had to prove it to them in a camp. doesnt show that they are real interested in him. but i dont mean to soun like a butt but i just read that one post and it got me iritated

listen to that. how many people want to shoulder the burden of rebuilding a national power? its a teenager after all. the pressure will be phenominal, and im sure he knows that. if hes all about competition and challenge like he says he is, than he is 100% our guy, and bring him on. if hes skeptical of that burden in anyway, then he is not our guy IMO. he has the physical talent. he has to show he has the mental talent too, and i just dont mean reading the plays and defensive schemes. we have a lot riding on him and he is no doubt aware...

I doubt any of this means much and I am not sure if it has been mentioned before.....

I did some checking into Scroggins HS team. Their coaching list is pretty amazing IMO.

I did see that the WR coach played at Fresno State the same time that Kiffin was a QB/Student Coach there. The RB coach has Fresno ties as well as some NFL ties). The D-Line coach played at USC during the Lane and O days with CPC. The guy's next stop was in the NFL with.... Monte. I am sure that makes for some interesting recruiting.

Anyways, just thought that it was a little interesting.

Someone mentioned that they thought the coach should not be in on the process. Having been a part of these processes before, I have to disagree. While I am not naive to think that some coaches would sway kids for personal interests (i.e. see Albert Means and Alabama), the vast majority are a great help to the process. Scroggins' coach has helped put a lot of kids on college football teams from what I can see. From my personal experience, a coach or AD can actually help a recruit and family take the emotions out of the equation, as well as helping them to refocus.

thanks for the input. that is a little more comforting. its interesting that his coaches have ties to both kiffins, however acute they are. itll be interesting to see if the coaches pushed him into our favor...

im not holding my breathe though :/

here is a post that I just posted under Rettig that you guys may have missed...

For what it is worth, the trojan fan base is getting a bit restless as we had heard that Jesse was suppose to announce by last week as I am sure many UT fans are in the same boat. Now some are saying that it will be another 1 to 2 weeks.

With that being said, it has also been said that Rettig is getting tired of playing "wait for Jesse" game and may commit to Boston College any day now. If we lose Rettig to BC cause Jesse is still "thinking", there are going to some upset fans as many think that Rettig has more upside. Now if Jesse waits around and commits to UT and we also lose Rettig to BC, all hell could break loose...

If Rettig really wanted to go to BC he would have committed there already. I think hes patient enough to wait a few more weeks to make the biggest decision of his life up till now.

well right now BC is in an equally dire QB situation with the transfer of their only QB with any kind of playing time. but i agree, it would be best for him to see what happens with scroggins. UT or USC v BC? hmmmmm doesnt take much to figure out

Both BC and UT are in the same boat in regards to shortage of QBs and both Jesse and Chase will be able to participate in spring football.

Yea, it would definitely suck for you all to have to fall back on your 5star QB from last year, find another 3star QB this year (like Rettig), and then land a stud 4 or 5star QB next year. That would suck bad...

I can't help but think that UF is still in this in Jesse's mind. Crazy, but true. They are not eliminated yet. He's buying everything Urban is selling - including holding off on announcing until the 25th, IMO. He may not commit to UF...but they have his ear.

It would be nice if he figures out what a liar Urban is... and brings that chip on his shoulder to UT. It's part of what I like about Cam Newton. He knows CUM for the whiny liar he is.

I hope he sees it...but his quotes in the most recent KNS article make you worry..."People just don't understand," he says about Meyer and Florida....that's right...some people don't understand.

He is already a Vol, but his statement about all the hoopla and the violations was ridiculous. That's obviously what his father and other coaches have been feeding him. Plenty of schools have more violations than us.

Yeah its obvious that he wants to come here but his family is pushing him toward USC. Its really sad to see parents trying to put their interests before their kids. Ya know Jesse's dad can get ESPN gameplan and he can watch every game. If Jesse comes here he will start the first game of 2010 and if he goes to USC he may start by 2012 and thats being optimistic.

hopefully we just dont lose out on both the Cali Qbs. We need to land one or the other. With Rettig starting to show is capabilities I bet he sees alot of offeres coming his way if he has a decent senior year. He could end up a big name guy come fall

If I was Rettig I would sign with BC now, espesially as a player if I am not their first choice and a player they will take as a consolation prize. For Scroggins I think he knew well before going into the USC camp they were going to offer. That was just USC trying to get the best QBs to show up throwing that out. Plus it is not like they said that at the last moment. It was determined they were going to do that along time ago and several of the other QBs they were looking at already commited before the camp and were no shows. By Scroggins statements before the camp he knew he would get the offer which leads me to believe that if he was wanting to go there that bad he would have commited on the spot. He was no suprise and the best on the boards still uncommitted before the camp. That was no suprise.

The fact that he is waiting I thinks really bodes well for UT. Also the way Kiffin likes to stir things up I think this might be something he wanted also. Think about it the last big QB name on the board, coming down basically between UT and USC, Carroll the proven recruiting powerhouse vs Kiffin who is creating alot of publicity. What would be better for Kiffin and UT having beat out Carroll and USC with a top QB in the backyard commiting on national TV they are going to UT. Kiffin couldn't script it any better.

I thnk he goes to UT and as a opposing fan I hope you guys get him.

Kiffin would deserve some major props if he were able to make it appear that he stole a recruit away from USC in a dramatic fashion ... particularly if he sways some big name WRs and OLs in the process. I would have to bow down and do a little idol worshipping if that was actually his plan (to create a fake battle between USC and UT - and then 'steal' him out of their backyard).

I don't have a lot of confidence in this going down that way...but we'll see...
