I know that it all depends on what happens with Jesse but didn't Rettig also say that the same thing about UT.

If that was the case, then why did UT offer Rees?

Wouldn't UT want both Rettig and Scroggins since they are taking two where as USC has only offered Jesse and is only taking one QB?

No, at this point Tennesse is going to sign two QBs in the 2010 class. They have two number one targets, Scroggins and Rettig. If Scroggins goes else where, they will offer Rettig, and he will likely come here as our #1. The staff wanted Rees as the #2 here regardless of whether they got Scroggins or not, and they knew that a Rees offer would probably not scare off Scroggins (or bring a commitment) as much as a Rettig offer right now would.

I have missed something. What is the deal with the Bray kid? What does him committing to SDSU have to do with Scroggins?

Was he supposed to be next on USC's list? Are we thinking Scroggins is definitely USC bound since this move was made by Bray?

Just curious as this is really the first time I have heard Bray's name mentioned.

From what I can tell, it seems like he is a lean towards USC and as they say in Real Estate "location location location"

He would be close to home where his family can go to practice and most games without the stress of having their son far away.

It also helps that he would accepting an offer from one of the top programs in the country with 4 Qb's currently in the NFL.

I do like Jesse but I also like Rettig. I think that Rettig fits our offense a bit better but does not have the athleticism that Scroggins has.

It is kinda funny as Rettig reminds me of Barkley and Scroggins reminds me of Corp.

Maybe he pulled his pistol a little too soon and called his shot but it is not like people are breaking down walls to attend SDSU.

I know that Bray and Rettig went head to head after it was pretty much known that Jesse would get the offer but it is not 100% that Jesse will commit to USC

Him having Cement insoles in his cleats might exlpain why he felt he wasn't going to get anything better. Rettig not only has a strong arm and supposedly is a pretty sharp kid, but he has a 4.7 40 (slightly better than Scroggins...and in his footage, you can see he is pretty mobile, running the spread a little bit). Bray is just unbelievably slow...slower than OL slow.
Don't see USC taking him, when they have better options.

At the USC camp, Jesse was given the MVP and the offer. Both Bray and Rettig were told that if Jesse did not commit to USC than it would come down to them two. From what I know, Rettig had a slight lead but now with Bray at sdsu, it makes people wonder wtf?

I do agree with the slow. He looked kinda like a giraffe running in a pasture :zeitung_lesen:

This is not accurate you can keep repeating it and it will not make it true. Rettig was the only one told he was getting offer if Jesse went elsewhere. He said it himself in interview and what he said is far more credible then what this Bray guy said.

Right now I would say he is USC bound,but maybe we need this thing to drag out a little more so that Coach Kiffin can get in his head.

Both players have said the same thing in the interview and why would you believe Rettig but not Bray. The only people that know the true answer are a guy named Pete and Jeremy..

see below on bray's words and trust me, I am glad Bray is going to SDSU as I have already stated that I prefer Rettig

Hubbs just said Scroggins (and this is subject to change) is still planning to announce at the Elite 11 camp in a couple weeks. Hubbs also said, that he picked up no hint of a leader.

Actually in the blog their is also an article about Bray and he says that they said it would be between him and Rettig if Scroggins goes elsewhere. I really don't see why it matters. Whose word is better than the others. I don't know them personally and would believe the coaches would have said this.

Their are two important facts here that are missing. First, USC coaches said they would offer a QB a scholarship on the spot at the camp. Second fact is that only three stood out at the camp. Scroggins, than Bray and Rettig. So it would seem that all three have a legit shot for the offer if the other two decline. Maybe Rettig feels he is the better of the two and only believes it will come down to him if Scroggins doesn't accept their offer and he might be right, but again if he also turns them down it might be Bray or would have been before he commited.

Rettig looked better then Bray. Bray got positive comments cuz he was an unexpected to be good at all. I watched the video with commentary. Rettig was next in line no doubt. Although I am sure Bray while waisted and high at parties at SDSU will say thinks like"dude I could of played at USC but I wanted to come party at SDSU, yeah back in the day I could of thrown this football over that mountain" or something like that.
