I thought that situation was odd myself..didnt want to participate in teh camps at UT but did at USC..that is what has me concerned..seems like he thought he was too good to try out for us..
I would rather take retting or Lamison that has heart and WANTS to play for UT..
The kid may also be smart and know what it takes to achieve your goals. His goal may have been getting an offer from USC....even if he was going to turn it down. Causing your injury to flare up by participating in a camp where you already have an offer is not a good way to ensure you achieve that goal. It may have been pragmatic...it's hard to know how to read it.
He obviously wanted to PERFORM at USC. Why? Because he HAD TO in order to get an offer. He already had an offer from us, and it sounds like he tried to go through workouts. CLK probably told him, like some other kids at camp (there were a few that were just visiting...like Blake Sims...but ended up working out), that they didn't need to, but encouraged them to participate nonetheless. Jesse probably loaded up on pain killers/muscle relaxers for the SC camp and played through the injury...cause it was a competition for the spot, unlike our camp. The kid may also be smart and know what it takes to achieve your goals.
